I heard about a female sub at my high school that assigned in-class reading, and then started knitting. Someone would eventually start screwing around, and she’d knit a little faster. That’s sll she did, so it became a game to see how fast the class could make her knit.
What it isn't is something good for kids. And "kids" are what they always shame you with to get you to support the machine and keep the money/power flowing.
Sounds like the teacher is getting just what her buddies, and likely her, created.
When I was in school, quite a few of the male teachers were WWII and/or Korean War combat veterans. You did not mess with them.

That’s true. It’s a form of bullying. As I noted earlier, I was an urban school teacher for decades. And we had this one sub, an older lady who spoke with an accent. Many students gave her a hard time. That happened because our administrators simply didn’t care enough to enforce basic classroom rules.
It was only after I read her obituary in the newspaper that I learned she was a survivor of Auschwitz. If those students only had some idea of the horrors she went through…
Of course. She just wants to be liked by her woke administrators, her colleagues, the union, and wants to say the right slogans to the black parent who show up to complain.
They have spent 5 decades getting straight white men out of teaching and administrative roles in k-12. Thats the downfall. They didn’t take a lot of crap from students and kept order, demanded respect and got very serious when they were disrespected.
Our class drove a weak teacher out. But the school quickly had its revenge. They found a male teacher who was tough as nails. His first act was to challenge the two class bullies/ringleaders, and humiliate them in front of the class.
There was never a discipline problem after that. 13 year olds are that different from chimpanzees.

Maybe, but I have my doubts. I recently “divorced” my cousin. She is a retired teacher of 40+ years. Big in the teachers Union, AFL-CIO etc.
For her to vote Republican, she would risk losing her longtime friends, all of whom are retired teachers. Same credentials, same experiences and friendships.
Many journalists are hired for diversity. And many of the younger ones, I assume, would be offended if their editor were to correct them.
Correct grammar is "white supremacy." Or it's for Boomers. Misspellings "are how young people write now."
