Five recent news stories seemingly unrelated, but all bound by one, insidious agenda.
Do you believe in cautionary tales or think most things happen without warning? Your answer might reveal how your psyche processes information to which you are exposed. Everything you need to make good decisions is readily available, depending upon which sources you rely.
Recently publicized topics should set your spidey senses twitching:
1. Silicon Valley Bank suffers an abrupt collapse.
2. Joe Biden resurrects the all-but-dead Willow Creek Oil project.
3. Biden’s Energy Secretary praises China’s work on climate change.
4. The president delivers his vision for his FY 2024 budget, with a $6.9 trillion price tag.
5. 40,000 hours of security footage inside the Capitol on January 6th are released to the public, initially through Tucker Carlson.
All of these bullets connect — ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) ideology permeates everything, and it will cost us all. You’ll understand who wins and who will lose when ESG is fully implemented. ESG is intended to replace the profit motive for large companies with something more akin to a social conscience. What could go wrong?

The biggest little bank you had never heard of was a key bank to the small and medium-sized businesses in the tech industry. Remember, the FDIC guarantees up to $250,000 per account. But, in a jaw-dropping move, Biden bailed out all accounts in a change not contemplated by the FDIC act. Is this to be the new FDIC standard?
Where did Biden get such authority, and is this yet another abuse of his presidential powers? Where’s Congress in all of this? Given Biden’s extra-lawful money grabs, why have a Congress at all?

ESG seems modeled after the Chinese Great Leap Forward. Remember 0bama’s campaign slogan “Forward”? No thanks.

What percent of companies that are implementing ESG are doing so whole hog and willingly, what percent with indifference, and what percent with reluctance or dread?
Just asking your ballpark sense on this.

Take that Putin!!! We may not have much of a military left (compared to the Cold War and compared to a year ago, thanks to dumping weapons in Ukraine), but we are FAR AHEAD of your country when it comes to ESG!

But they can't have it both ways - they can't wear leftism like a badge of honor and a corporate strength when you're in business, then hide it and act like it was no biggie when they fail.
That said, when you see the left crying Let’s Retire the Word “Woke” you can see that Alynsky works for anyone.
I think most of the fortune 500 company leadership are in this big tome for the virtue signaling. They tend to be big demosRAT supporters as well.
In smaller companies I think that those going along are doing it because of SEC regulations so probably out of indifference or dread.
I would be curious to hear what the large oil company CEOs think.
I think SVB was more interested in increasing their ESG score than assessing risk. Being leftists they probably didn’t think the excessive government spending posed a risk to their long-term bond investments.

That was a few years ago-our man in Manhattan Sam may have a more contemporary view.
That's also Manhattan pre-covid. Maybe it's different in California or SF, or maybe since 2020 senior managers aren't checking their politics at the door. I wasn't in the asset-liability committees at SVB to hear Joe Blow say "well, I think white privilege will keep depositors from running away."
Having said that, the left is REALLY upset at the gaslighting the right has done with them on this topic.
