For me it with my arms wrapped around my sugar-woogum or his around me.
But seriously as you get older you sleep in the position that will let you wake up with the least amount of pain. And that will change all though the night for me.

800 mg of ibuprofen, 50 mg diphenhydramine at bed time. The ibuprofen gets the rheumatoid arthritis pain below the point that it prevents getting to sleep. The diphenhydramine counters the itchy, watery eyes from the pet fur. Once I'm out, I sleep pretty well until something wakes me up. I loathe the transition from sleep paralysis to awake with all the nerves firing. I hurt head to toe. There is nothing to do but get up.
