A newly resurfaced video of a DoorDash driver who refused to give a man his food after he only tipped her $8 for a delivery in 2021 has gone viral.
The video, which was been viewed nearly one million times on YouTube, shows Ring camera footage of the woman yelling at the man for the seemingly measly tip when she went on a 12-and-a-half mile trip for the food.
According to the woman, the man “must not realize” how far she traveled to collect the food. The woman explained that she had to drive to Commack, Long Island to pick up the savory food and then travel to Smithtown, which she claimed took her 40 minutes.

Why tip at a restaurant at all? The workers are making 18 an hour, and they split the tips with the entire staff. Our local Diner charges $35 for two burgers with fries. Breakfast of an omelet, hashbrowns plus 2 eggs, bacon and toast for both is about the same. They drive the regular folks to never go out.
How about minimum wage?
Which Naps am I talking to?
A tip is by definition not mandatory. back in the 60s I was a wharf rat at a tourist fishing marina and when the boats came in I cleaned the customers’ fish for tips. Sometimes I got nothing for cleaning 150 pounds of fish. Sometimes I got 35 dollars for cleaning a single 18 pound red snapper. I never complained and ended with, “here you go, sir.” and made good money all in all for three or fours work. Think what $35 would be today.
OMG I owned restaurants my entire working life if a server EVER made a comment to a guest about a tip their ass would have been FIRED immediately, I can’t believe these young people today could be that damn tacky JEEZE!!!
What’s a comfortable range for tipping a Dash Driver...
The less people that touch your food the better. I tend to not even eat at any restaurant where I can not see the kitchen. Let alone what someone is going to do to the food during a drive. No thanks.
Shipped by what company? How far do you live from the shipper? We live 20-30 minutes from ours so they won’t deliver.
Paying someone to record your order and drop it off....20%....that’s why I hate sit down places.
No if they would go to the restroom for me and wash....I’d throw in dome.
“Paying someone to record your order and drop it off....20%....that’s why I hate sit down places.”
Your tipping them NOT to spit in your food on your next visit.
I was travelling with a friend of mine many years ago. She was a Florida girl, We stopped at a restaurant on Kentucky and had lunch. There were tow gals that were servers,
When we were leaving and near the door, the two gals got into a big fight over who gets the tip.
My friend looked over there, walked up and grabbed the tip off the table and said “ Ah’ill settle it for ya’ll and have a blessed day”.
LMAO!
UPS generally.......
In my area, all of the drivers are like that. I haven’t come across one yet that was “skanky.” We’ve become sort of a little fraternity (although I’m a girl! :-D), and we take a lot of pride in what we do. I keep hoping the good drivers will push out the BAD drivers.
