Carrying a pocket knife everywhere, every day...
Getting a whole bag of mixed penny candy for a nickle...
Sharing a single bottle of Coke or Pepsi with your friends...
Using tubes of real model glue to build models, not to sniff...
Riding a stripped down bicycle with no chain guard or fenders...
Searching for empty soda bottles to turn in for the deposit (2¢ for small bottles, 5¢ for quarts)
Check out Moochelle.

He's a burly girly!!!
ROFLMAO
I know she is a Dem and a dem review, but has anyone tried this?
We were more "Green" in the 40's, 50's and 60's than people today who think they are Green.
We recycled soda bottles and milk bottles, newspapers and magazines.
We walked or rode bicycles everywhere.
Most families were lucky to have one car, not 2 or 3.
The majority of people never flew on an airplane their entire lives.
No plastic or foam trays - we had cardboard, paper bags, brown paper, butcher paper for meats and cheeses, wax paper for sandwiches and left-overs..
Who remembers Lay-Away purchases and Christmas Club accounts at the bank?
I remember “Basket Day” at school. We had to bring in our fruit baskets we had purchased fruit or vegetables in from the market. It was those baskets made of very thin wood, about 6” across by about 16” long, around 5” deep, with the handle curved over the top in the middle of the basket. We packed them together to carry bundles of four.
I never thought about it, but I guess we collected them all at the school so the farmers could pick them up and refill them lol.
We had one car, as did most on our street. NOBODY went south in the winter.....we never heard of such a thing. We stayed out playing all day in the summer, only to be told to head home when the street lights came on. It was obvious there was no worry of child abduction, as no parent even poked their heads out the door to see if we were all there.
It was baseball, hide and seek, Red Rover, skipping double Dutch, or in the field catching grasshoppers. Wow. So long ago lol.
Oh, the MEMORIES!!!
Thanks CB.
Good post - Thanks for the memories!
I had completely forgotten about those wooden baskets but your post jogged my memory and reminded me of them.
We didn't have a "Basket Day" but I do recall that they were so common through the summer as the various local crops were harvested.
I remember that some versions had wire handles instead of the wooden hoop.
Today when everything is made of plastic (derived from petroleum) those real wooden baskets would be seen as collectible hand crafted curiosities
and probably end up decorating Fern Bars and Theme Restaurants.
Good morning, lysie!
I see BACON!
That means it is gonna be a great day!
Thank you!
(How did you do at the chicken BBQ sale yesterday?)

Also, notice how Fauci phrases bioweapon creation.
“they take a natural virus and manipulate it a bit”.
Yeah, that “manipulation” is just adding the human receptor to the pathogen, making it transmissible in humans.
In other words… creating bioweapons…
That killed millions.

Hey libs, if any of you are shocked about how the media lied about what happened on J6, well I have a little story to tell you about what they did to a man with orange skin who traveled around the country saying “wouldn’t it be nice if we made this place even better!”

So many great childhood memories, Judy.
Things I remember....
playing Hop Scotch, Dodge Ball, Kick the Can, tricky bars
eating freshly picked peas on the back stoop
comic books
watching Saturday morning cartoons
only 3 TV channels
party phones
wearing a dress to school
air raid drills at school
lots of family time playing board games and cards
neighborhood grocery store
roller skates that clamped onto your shoes, wore the skate key on string around neck
Good morning, lysie!
Many thanks for another great breakfast.
How did the Chicken BBQ go?
Anyone remember playing Mumbley-peg (aka Mumblety-peg)?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mumblety-peg
Or Ringolevio (aka Ring-a-levio)?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ringolevio
I remember the boys played Mumbley-peg.
Ringolevio is one I don’t remember.
But I do remember Duck Duck Goose.
And how about Spin the Bottle?
Whoa! I didn’t know she’s gained so much weight.
