A Florida man accused of dumping two glasses of water on his older brother during an argument over key lime pie — admittedly not the most heinous Florida man offence — now faces charges that could potentially put him in jail for up to 30 years.
64-year-old Lee County resident David Sherman Powelson was arrested Wednesday and charged with one count of first-degree felony aggravated battery on a person aged 65 years or older, according to court records accessed by Law and Crime.(snip)
Powelson, who faces up to three decades in prison and possibly thousands of dollars in fine if convicted, had eaten a pie that his brother — referred to in an affidavit as “the victim” — had been saving.
Deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call about “physical domestic dispute” around 8:30 pm [local time] after “the victim became upset and an argument ensued,” the probable cause affidavit stated. “While sitting in the chair, David [Powelson] emptied two large glasses of water on the victim. The victim feared [Powelson’s] aggressive behavior would lead to him being physically harmed and or killed.”

Anybody with half a brain would stop that from happening.
“Florida man faces up to 30 years in jail for throwing water on brother”
Likely a hate crime, since the victim was black.
That’ll learn him. Maybe.
Florida Man strikes again!
At what cost to taxpayers?
$50-75k/ year.
But yet murderers are out on the street in 24 hours in many locales.
I chuckle when I see that artwork. It’s so fitting.
Man, that Florida sun really takes its toll on people! They age so much faster there!
Ok. Hold up a sec. If these two were fighting over the key lime from Publix, that could be cause for a fight. Some love it, some hate it. Been debated, hotly, in my house several times.
The ironic thing is that it is the Florida open records laws that let all of these incidents become news stories. Most other states would be “Florida Man [insert state in title] states if crazy incidents were made publicly available. Imagine what DC and leftist states would be thought of if the stories were made public.
Thats not sun damage but liquor .
All for pouring water on someone.
Having recently eaten two nice slices of the Publix variety, I must say...”If you steal my last slice of Key Lime Pie, I’ll pour two glasses of water on you!”
Publix makes a pretty good one, imo.
30 years in jail over tossing two glasses of water? What? There must be more to the story. Maybe he threw the water while it was still in the glass, but even then, that’s a big stretch of logic.
The dumb pranks I used to play on my sisters would put his water toss in the shade.
** Hes a rough looking 64 years old.
