We kept on dying.
This is the first time in history where an excess of food is considered a problem.
Don't get used to it.

In past years, infant mortality was horrible.
This is an example from a small Utah newspaper of 1873, where with 71 deaths for the month, 54 were children:
"Here is the mortuary report for September:
"Males, 42; females, 29.
Of these, adults, 17; children, 54.
"Causes of death as reported:
"Teething and bowel complaint, 28; brain disease, 8; typhoid and scarlet fever, 6;
consumption, 5; lung disease, 4; convulsions, 2; stillborn, 2; suicide, 2;
old age, 1; injuries received by a fall, 1; accidental poisoning, 1; aphthæ, 1;
pleurisy, 1; croup, 1; whooping cough, 1; heart disease, 1; diptheria, 1;
lead poisoning, 1; marasmus, 1; not reported, 3;
total interments, 71".

First feinstein didn’t know she was retiring now they buried her before she was dead? Wow..

Teething and bowel complaint, 28Colic? I have read where colicky babies tended to be on the autism spectrum. I wonder if advances in dealing with colic over the years allowed for more and more autistic babies to make it into adulthood.
