Road miles by state-—
—CA vs TX no comparison (Taxes vs road miles) Texas wins hands down.
-—PA vs NY or NJ no comparison, PA wins hands down with far lower taxes and better roads.

I thought Pennsylvania was #1. You drive any direction away from us, even leftist Maryland or New York, and roads are suddenly better.
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument
So what happened to the unconstitutional, unaccountable Biden Administration spending for infrastructure that probably all went to blue states anyway? Correction welcome.
Patriots, the bottom line is this imo. What is your threshold of “pain” for peacefully stopping unconstitutionally big state and federal governments controlled by bully, constitutionally undefined political parties, from oppressing the people under their boots?
The inevitable remedy for ongoing, post-17A ratification, corrupt political party treason (imo)...
All MAGA patriots need to wake up their RINO federal and state lawmakers by making the following clear to them.
If they don’t publicly support either a resolution, or a Constitutional Convention, to effectively "secede" ALL the states from the unconstitutionally big federal government by amending the Constitution to repeal the 16th (direct taxes) and 17th (popular voting for federal senators) Amendments (16&17A), doing so before the primary elections in 2024, that YOU will primary them.
If the proposed amendment was limited strictly to repealing 16&17A, relatively little or ideally no discussion would be needed before ratification of the amendment imo.
With 16&17A out of the way, my hope is that Trump 47 becomes the FIRST president of a truly constitutionally limited power federal government.
In the meanwhile, I'm not holding my breath for significant MAGA legislation to appear in the first 100 days of new term for what may still prove to be another RINO-controlled House.
Trump will hopefully do another round of primarying RINOs for 2024 elections.
We live in USSR-WA. Governor Dimslee in control. The roads here are embarrassingly bad…like driving on a washboard. 🤮
I knew Connecticut had to be on that list. Our roads have always been bad but they are worse then ever now. Pot holes are all over the place. It’s like driving an obstacle course trying to dodge all the holes and bumps in the road.
The Gay State is near the top (sorry...bottom).No wonder we’re called “Taxachusetts”.
The past 2-3 decades, the interstates and other so called freeways in N. California got a lot of local tax $’s with Federal sharing to upgrade and improve those highways.
In Spite of local roads supposedly getting earmarked tax $’s, many of our local roads got nothing.
Our culdesac was a fairly recent front page story re skateboarders using the new road 5 decades ago with basically no homes shown in the articles.
A woman, who had grown up in this area was able to document $’s that basically nothing had been done to maintain nor improve our 2 major roads in spite of supposed allotted tax’s.
A retired Marine living on the culdesac with his family, threatened to offer the culdesac as a tank proving ground for the Marines. The city, then decided to spend allocated tax money on our culdesac.
To avoid bad publicity and a couple of newer lawyers on the cul de sac, the city finally allowed the 2 streets (about 240 yards of road) to be resurfaced.
We split time between California and Idaho, two polar extremes.
The roads in sky-high tax California (I’m in the San Francisco Bay Area) are the worst I’ve ever seen. They are as bad as many of the roads I traveled in third world South American and Asian countries in the mid 70s. High taxes go to the alphabet crowd, the infinite homeless, the zillions of illegals, corrupt politicians and unions. The climate in the Bay Area is mild and not rough on roads.
The roads in low-tax Idaho are fantastic and the counties and states are always repairing and improving them. The climate in North Idaho is harsh and very rough on roads.
I’ve noticed this disparity for the five years we’ve owned in North Idaho and the previous 30 years when we visited family in the Twin Falls area.
Idaho was reported yesterday the #1 fastest growing state and California is close to the fastest shrinking state.
One of the things I notice when driving through Illinois is that when they ARE doing road construction they block off 20, 30, 40 miles of roadway making it only 1 lane the whole way with a speed limit of 45 MPH.
And 90% of the time when you drive that there’s absolutely no work being done.
You WILL find a trouper there ready to pull you over for speeding in a construction zone (fines double!). Otherwise it’s just ultra frustrating they can’t seem to just limit lane closures to the areas they are actually doing active construction at that time.
Louisiana gets a pass from all of the gumbo soils that are constantly in movement.
I’m surprised MD made that list.
That’s part of the corruption...they set up traps to give tickets. Cross the state line from IL to WI and it’s night and day.
I figure that the reason Kentuckians continue to vote Mitch McConnell in every 6 years is because he keeps their highways in decent shape. There is no other explanation that makes sense…unless it’s that he’s been cheating at winning the same way the Democrats do in blue states.
Declining infrastructure is a sure sign of bloated government with politicians spending too much on salary, healthcare and pension costs.
“You get what you vote for” trumps “you get what you pay for”.
What’s the criteria here?
In Virginia, they apparently consider the road in good condition if you can drive over in a 4x4 without blowing a tire.
More often than not California spends more gas taxes on parks than repairing roads.
Drive the I-5 bring extra shocks and tire.
LOL...I thought MY state (MA) was #1!
We have had an ongoing battle for the last 30 years to get the road in our neighborhood fixed by the town, but...they are more interested in passing town ordinances that require “climate change” be discussed in all town meetings and official affairs.
Amazing. They have bike trails, firework shows, town festivals, all that, but dammit, they wouldn’t fix a road that was so bad that when we had visitors, they would complain about having to drive over it.
They finally did, this past year, fix the shamefully degraded road in our neighborhood, but it grates on me that we had to badger them for years to do it while they diddle themselves with climate change crap, October Fests and Christmas Parades.
I’m surprised Connecticut is on the worst roads list... 🤓
