“It is a patriotic Christian hymn.”
Yep. I’ve played it for offertory before — decades before its message was corrupted by the left. It’s very pretty.
>I thought we were supposed to kneel for black people.
>Obedience to the elites is so confusing!
Just as long as you obey. They’ll flip whatever around occasionally just to identify the problem children.
I didn’t watch (I went to the party for the company and the pork ribs), but I heard the Fox announcers didn’t make any references to a “Black National Anthem.” They just announced the song by name from what I heard.
Good for her!
It looks like they cut off his butt and turned it into that hump on his back. That's a weird looking dude.
Didn’t watch the pre-game shows, tuned in at the kickoff, watched a few plays then watched Shirley Temple movies on TMC, then watched the ending of the 2nd quarter, a little bit of the half-time show , then back to Shirley Temple, then tuned in for the last few minutes of the 4th quarter, then back to Shirley Temple.....................
We have lost it when doing nothing makes you a hero.
No NFL ever again, this whole production was a bunch of BS, and I didn’t even watch it.
There is no recognized black nation within the United States. Thus there is no reason for Americans to stand for any anthem claiming to be a "national anthem" except the national anthem of the United States.
People who are members of one of the 574 federally recognized Indian Nations within the United States may stand for their own anthem if they have one.
Of course, many states have state anthems or songs.
A BUTTECTOMY?..................🤔😜
Good for her. I’m sick of the elites trying to push their agenda on the masses.
It is not a bad song, but I hesitate to call it a hymn. There is no mention of God until the last verse. When it does invoke God, it is mostly to celebrate and preserve what they have, and not as much about salvation and Heaven. I would guess the writer was much more secular in his outlook than religious.
Hmm...seems a church hymn rather than a national anthem of any color.
Is it condemning abortion here?
Stony the road we trod,
Bitter the Chast’ning rod,
Felt in the day that hope
Unborn had died;
Yet with a steady Beat,
” I hesitate to call it a hymn.”
Compilers of hymnals for a century would disagree.
But, then, I don’t call Contemporary Christian Music “Christian”, either.
I have boycotted these jerks for several years—at this point I know that there is only so much I can do to stop the rot—but I am going to do every little bit I can....
The only part of me they get is my middle finger.
Why is the NFL confining itself to a “black national anthem”? Where is the “Hispanic national anthem”? The “Asian-American national anthem”? The “LGBTQ national anthem”? If the NFL is going to be stupid, there’s no point in stopping now.
I agree. I have problems with most “hymns” written in the 20th century and latter. Modernism seems to have focus writers and publishers much more on Us than Him.
You mean “La Cucaracha”, “Chopsticks” and “YMCA”?..................
I stand for the National Anthem and that’s it, no other song but that.
