Former President Donald Trump attacked Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in a flurry of social media posts that blast his potential rival as a “RINO GLOBALIST.”
In what some skeptics may see as trying extra hard to find an intraparty foil to attack in the run-up to his 2024 election bid, Trump appears to have landed on DeSantis as his desired villain in this professional wrestling-inspired political drama.
It started Tuesday evening when Trump posted a short 10-second video of DeSantis from roughly five years ago arguing that he wanted to be like then-GOP congressional leader Paul Ryan:

I used to be a Trump fan, but these attacks on DeSantis who is a great Governor, are childish. I no longer support trump.
Ron hawking for Ukraine was an eye opener.
When is DeSantis going to say he’s not going to run against Trump- who helped him get into the governor seat
Shut up, Trump. You’re hurting yourself with the trash talk which will hurt all of is in the next election.
Ron could end this if he would make it clear he is not interested in running in ‘24.
I do wish Trump would spend his early campaign building the case that HE is the best candidate, rather than preemtively stiking out at others who haven’t even declared. In 2016, Trump evangelized on what he wanted to do in office, and it resonated with the electorate. Now, he appears to want to clear the field before making his case.
Its not 2016 anymore.
His old tactics are not going to work this time around. Consultants in both parties have spent the last six years with focus groups and testing environments examining his tactics. They will be able to adjust and attack.
Trump will have to change his tactics if he wants to get more than his “slice” of the party.

This is embarrassing at this point. His utter BS lies about DeSantis and covid are too easy to prove wrong when trump lined up lockstep with Fauci against the governors opening up. If Trump somehow survives the primary against Ron he’ll have my vote but he’s losing me daily right now. Same with virtually every Republican voter I know.
