Good advice no matter what your race.
Think about it: even good cops on a good day have likely been dealing with a parade of unhappy people. On a bad day nothing but a string of ***holes. They do not want to deal with your crap.
Being polite has never got me out of anything, but at least I’ve never been one of the ***holes.
Look, I don’t think anyone should have an affair with a police officer’s wife for ex-wife, but that’s still not a justification for beating the crap out of someone.
Does anyone really think that a dispute over a woman should result in one person dead, five people in jail for life, and other people fired or possibly convicted of something?
I have gotten out of nearly every possible ticket in my lifetime, by doing the following.
WORRY about the safety of the police officer. I pull WAAAAY far off to the side so they don’t have to risk their life standing in the road to talk to me through the window.
I have get my drivers license and insurance out BEFORE they get to the window and I have the window rolled down and my hands clearly visible.
Then I sincerely admit to anything I was doing that prompted them to pull me over in the first place, and apologize.
Because to be 100% I FEEL BAD for cops! they have a crappy job that doesn’t pay very much and now because I was an idiot they had to pull me over and risk their life to give me a ticket or whatever, and I just let those real feelings show .. and PRESTO!! they nearly always let me go with a warning.
I have done that without fail. Still got the tickets.
Growing up where I did I must admit the vast majority of cops were white and so was I. But even before I got to drive the word on the street was if you decide to run from the cops, you better have one kick a** car and you know they can’t catch you. Because if they do, they’re going to kick your a** but good.

To balance out that video, here’s Chris Rock saying that policing is a profession much like being a pilot. There simply cannot be any “bad apples”. Rock makes a good point. It’s just a shame he put too much race into it. Bad cops mess white people up too, Chris.
Oh, man; I remember that skit. One of the funniest pieces I’ve seen. Chris Rock was a genius at comedy.
I just watched this video again, as it was posted here. I had to take a break before I wrote this because I was laughing so hard tears were streaming out of my eyes, and I was having difficulty seeing the type as I tried to comment.

Sounds advice. But it wouldn’t have been applicable to this recent Memphis incident.

Correct, Nichols was murdered in Cold Blood, there is nothing he could have done to get out of it.
