What would the Church of England be without gay people? Well, desperately short of vicars for starters. As many as 40 per cent of Anglican clergy are said to be gay. That percentage is probably even greater for choir members. A mischievous contemporary of mine at university set herself the challenge of seducing every adult member of the choir of King’s College, Cambridge. Let’s just say Rebecca had a mountain to climb.
Without gay men, the organ lofts of our great cathedrals would grow cobwebby with disuse and the thrumming, resonant pipes fall silent. Subtract the gay organists, gay clergy, gay choir members and gay musicians from the King’s forthcoming Coronation and what would you have left? Two archbishops and a harpist, I reckon. It would be a sad, straight and tuneless occasion.
As a general rule, the higher the Anglicanism and the more “bells and smells”, the greater the gay presence. So, imagine what it must be like to be one of those committed Christians and to know that you are forbidden to marry the person you love in what is quite literally your spiritual home.
That rejection was confirmed last week when the bishops decided that they would not change the church’s fundamental teaching that “holy matrimony is between one man and one woman for life”. However, for the first time, priests will be allowed to give God’s blessing to married same-sex couples. That will allow them to have a service after being married in a civil ceremony. Such blessings will be voluntary for clergy, allowing them to opt out on theological grounds.
The Church described the move as “historic”. To many, though, it sounded like a classic CofE fudge. By giving a blessing aren’t you, er, giving your blessing? Episocopal obfuscation of the highest order.

It's still the "established church" of the UK. They need to be on hand for various state ceremonies such as coronations.
That's why it's politically relevant.
To me, this is just an admission of “we’re a business, not a religion”. If you don’t stand for Christ and his principles then you’re just a virtue signaling beggar.
One of Flannery O’Connor’s fictional characters tried to start the “Holy Church of Christ without Christ.” But there was no need, that’s what the Church of England is for.
The catho,oc church, and other denominations that refuse to,preachmthe word of God as written, are keeping homosexuals blind and ,iving in sin, and u willing to repent and be saved because they think that because the church accepts them AND their lifestyle, th3n God must too, hence no need to repent. The church that wont condemn sin because thye were too worried about their church numbers, is leading people to hell by not confronting sin. THeir congregation co gregati9n as a result remains ignorant of the gospels.
Precisely. Such a church preaches a false gospel. God’s word tells us to be aware of, and avoid false preachers who come disguised as God’s elect. Folks that continue in such a church are being deprived of the true word of God. THey shoukd find a church that doesn’t compromise with the Devil.
To me, this is just an admission of “we’re a business, not a religion”.

I’ve been to several Anglican churches in England, and I think you’re right. For one thing, there’s little to no passion. They have bake sales, Christmas card sales, the choir performs as needed and the churches are magnificent, but it felt very stale and empty. Nice folks, devoted to good works but lacking in the evangelical spirit.
It’s just not polite.
It will wither on the vine and die.
God has plan. God’s plan can be found in the Bible. Don’t let the Twisted Sisters or the Seminary Skull Bangers to confuse you using the NT. This ain’t a, “What would JC do?”, and personally I believe the NT with the Father when the Son is cancelled out by those on The Highway to Hell.
Jesus made a whip of cords and drove them all from the temple!
The cathedrals will become Mosques dedicated to Satan.
If you truly loved your brother would you lie to him and cover for sin?
In doing so you will lead him off of the true path of salvation.
Your post is the appropriate response. If the C of E wants to become some sort of musical, art culture gay themed historical society than it should and logically be disestablished as a religious entity receiving government financial support.
If the opening statement in the title is actually true, then the Church of England is the Chruch of England no more, just some non-Christians that inherited the edifce as it was abandoned by former Christians that are today at best agnostics and at worst atheists.
The MINISTERIUM would not survive sans queer. The church, the Body of Christ, would do just fine. In fact it would not be stifled as it is now by moral equivalency.
Well, maybe that’s the way it should be.
Works for me.
They gave up on God and HIs truth a long time ago and by default have forfeited the right to call themselves a church, the body of Christ.
If you are not going to believe Him or obey Him, then don’t pretend to be His followers.
This is very candid and spot on description of the state of the Church of England.
The Catholic Church is facing the same challenge.
The Lavender Mafia is relentless in it’s fanatical assault on the Church and it’s institutions.
So its all about the MONEY eh?
Organized religion is antithetic to true faith.
Today’s church leaders from your local pastor, priest, or minister, all the way up the line to the pope itself, are antithetic to true faith. They are the Pharisees of today.
You don’t need them/better off without them.
Your “faith” in God/Jesus and the bible are all you really need.
Fag churches need their congregational perverts and their money
