Months after suffering third-degree burns in a fire that erupted while working on one of his antique cars, Jay Leno was injured in a mishap.

Leno broke several bones in a motorcycle crash last week.
The comedian was speaking by phone with a reporter, telling him that he was “knocked off my motorcycle. So I’ve got a broken collarbone. I’ve got two broken ribs. I’ve got two cracked kneecaps.”
“So I turned down a side street and cut through a parking lot, and unbeknownst to me, some guy had a wire strung across the parking lot but with no flag hanging from it,” Leno told the newspaper. “So, you know, I didn’t see it until it was too late. It just clothesline me and, boom, knocked me off the bike.”
He said he didn’t say anything about the crash that happened on Jan. 17 because of the media coverage he received surrounding his burns.
“You know, after getting burned up, you get that one for free,” Leno said. “After that, you’re Harrison Ford, crashing airplanes. You just want to keep your head down (laughs).”
Ford has had several airplane mishaps: one in 2020 when he had to do a touch-and-go landing after being told to hold his position, another in 2017 when he landed on a taxiway, still another in 2015 when he crashed a World War II-era training plane onto a golf course, in 2000 when his plane was blown from the runway by wind and finally in 1999 when he had to make an emergency landing in a dry riverbed, The New York Times reported.

Leno had been scheduled to return to the Las Vegas Strip in March and said that he was OK and was scheduled to perform this weekend.
The comedian was working on a 1907 White Motor Co. steam-powered car when he found the fuel line clogged. He told a friend who he was working with to blow air through the line and gas rained down on his face. The car’s pilot light flickered and caught his face on fire
He could claim to be saving the planet by saving gas, and money to buy a BEV cycle.

Not sure but it should be.
Any reasonable person could see how it’s going to hurt someone at some point. You don’t get to hurt people for breaking minor traffic laws.
You cannot boobytrap your property against trespassers in a way that will injure them. That is not legal anywhere that I know of.
This was clearly going to get someone hurt at some point.
It’s not legal. I suspect there will be charges or a lawsuit, or both.
But he can’t tell us that...because his broken ribs hurt when he talks. LOL
I think it is used for fuel to heat the water? beats towing a rail car of wood around.
Some environmentalist strung a wire across a hiking trail some years back because he didn’t like atvs using it, even though it was legal for atvs. Some guy got severely injured. I think the environmentalist is still in prison.
I wasn’t knocking anyone but when you keep getting in accidents, you need to take a hard look and make necessary adjustments.
Leno is rather careless.
I am glad you like to keep going and that you keep in mind safety.
I other words, someone is about to loose that property along with the rest of their stuff because being negligent and malicious can be costly.
It is awful. Hasn’t happened to me yet and don’t want it to either. I hate those places. Seen too many stuck in that wasteland of misery like my mother was. Like being jailed.
I guess something has to heat the water.
Maybe not if the law states you aren’t supposed to be doing what Leno did. We also do not know if there were warnings that Leno did not see.

Is Leno in some sort of a competition with Harrison Ford?
Two accidents is not a pattern of careless behavior.
They both have risk, of course, but working on cars and riding a motor cycle are not inherently careless or wreak less behaviors.
Calling someone “careless” because they have had two completely unrelated accidents is not justified.
A wire strung across the parking lot? Sounds like he’s not giving anyone the full story and smells pretty much like bs.

I agree with you that Jay does seem to be having a run of accidents and might want to, as you say, make some adjustments.

Breaking a traffic law and “trespassing” (if it even was that), does not justify physically injuring someone, or creating the conditions that will almost certainly lead to injuring some one.
Booby traps that can cause serious injury are not legal anywhere.
