BS... Leno admitted "Cutting through" a parking lot. Most people do not do that unless they're in a big huge hurry, so they "Cut through" the parking lot etc.
This is no normal activity which you suggested and the reason why in most cases, it's illegal to "Cut through parking lots".

Based on Leno’s *own* words, he broke the traffic laws which resulted in his injury.

Worth noting that, at least in his videos, Jay doesn’t seem to kit up in full modern armor when going for a ride. It’s possible (since I haven’t got full details of the event, I won’t speculate on the probability) that he might have gotten up with no injury or a few scrapes if he had worn modern riding gear instead of just a helmet and his denim shirt as he seems to in the videos.
Worked with a guy who was almost decapitated hitting a single strand barb wire fence on his snowmobile. How it didn’t cut an artery was beyond me but he had a 6” scar and it severely damaged his vocal cords.
