I assume it’s a function of force rather than duration.
If a small weak person like myself does it, yeah no problem.
If an adrenaline fueled young beefy paramedic does it, could be an issue.

I have been involved in lots of CPR events, usually ambuing at the head of the bed. Broken ribs are extremely common. The sound of it happening is grotesque but it is never cause to stop life support.
Your personal experiences with ACLS are indeed remarkable.

Broken ribs have more to do with age than anything. I don’t remember ever breaking any on young people but you can expect it as we grow older.
