He wasn’t funny 20 years ago, sure ain’t funny now.
If you happen to be the right place, at the right time you get to be the token, and get lots of pay from guilty libs who want to push you to prove they aren’t racists.
Lopez, Margaret Cho, Mindy Kahling... all are perfect examples of this.
Not very talented, not very funny, but when the entertainment set needed a token they were right place, right time.
