Look at the sky in the picture associated with this article.
That is not an overcast day. It is air-pollution. That’s a normal day. The sky is not blue in Chinese cities.

How many people know that prior to 1949 China was a friendly country? Chiang Kai-shek was far from perfect (he was fanatically pro-moslem and anti-Israel for one thing), but he wasn't destabilizing Asia.
Thanks again, liberals.

Just posing a thought for consideration, is a blue water navy really essential for China now as it has been for the US?
The trade routes within the island chain outboard of China can be controlled by relatively short range land based missiles never having to put a fleet or aircraft carrier in harms way. The Chicom trade fleet could be obliterated in that way just as submarines did the same to the Japanese trade fleet.
The Chicoms can project outward of their bathtub in a similar way but only so far as the outer islands from Japan all the way to Indonesia. Some land bases may be needed to expand but Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Malaysia are land battles, not easy but require no navy.
There is no need to project into the vastness of the Pacific, it is only water after all, nothing to take. What they need and want are resources; those are available without spanning the Pacific.
It is even much easier to go to war to the west, with the Stans and Russia than it is to go east.
As for taking or conquering the US, why?

As for taking or conquering the US, why? If you believe the common wisdom on FR, the most vaxxed group in the world, aka the US Military, will be reduced to a shell force by disease, debilitation, and death.
So the ChiComs can just roll up to the US Capitol and ask for the keys....

Clearing Tiananmen Square of 50 million complaining grandpas and grandpas, who are the Mandarin kin of the ChiComm rulers, will be an impossible task.
The ChiComm subsidized cruise fleet will be built. Tickets will cost 10 renminbi, equivalent to $1.47. All-you-can-eat Peking duck buffets included. At 7pm sharp. Entertainment by Japanese Elvis impersonators. 9pm to midnight.

The map below shows for an earlier year, I think 2021, visualizing China's biggest import partners.
As you can see, while the USA is behind China's neighbors like South Korea, Taiwan and Japan, it is a pretty decent showing

You are right that if China stopped importing from the USA, then that would have minimal direct impact on the USA's exports

Just so long as the Chinese are still pumping out cheap stuff for the Dollar Tree store. Like $1.25 eyeglasses and cheap thin socks that work great for my athletic shoes.

Trade Deficit with your Chicom lovers:
U.S. goods and services trade with China totaled an estimated $615.2 billion in 2020. Exports were $164.9 billion; imports were $450.4 billion. The U.S. goods and services trade deficit with China was $285.5 billion in 2020. China is currently our largest goods trading partner with $559.2 billion in total (two way) goods trade during 2020.

Before the USA finally started to fight back ( Pre Trump ), the ChiComs imposed a 7.5% tariff on US import. The USA had around 3%. Now both USA and China impose a higher tariff on each others imports. China's is 21% and te USA's is 19%.
