I decided to go that route. I bought a 6 TB hard drive and an Elgato Video Capture. I'm retired and I have time. should be interesting.

Thanx for the help and encouragement.
Just started the VHS conversion.

I bought a 3 TB not a 6 TB HD.

This Elgato Video Capture is perfect.
not much in the way of a manual, but the steps are self explanatory. mp4 files and it's a small footprint based on other video editors\creators i've used.
