There are probably outboard devices too that connect via USB
I would probably avoid the cheapies, now I have not researched this tech in a decade - I bought a Canopus MVR PCI card and it cost a pretty penny 12 years ago but a mid priced unit today will outperform mine no doubt.

I decided to go that route. I bought a 6 TB hard drive and an Elgato Video Capture. I'm retired and I have time. should be interesting.
