Neighbors of an Oak Brook home targeted for a home invasion Friday said it's one of several houses in the neighborhood hit by burglars in the last few months.
But on Friday, when the robbers broke in through the home's back door, a teenage girl was inside and hiding as they ransacked the place and stole valuables.
"It was a scary situation for a 16 year old girl to be home and have that home violated. A scary situation," said Oak Brook Police Chief Brian Stockis.
Authorities said Miller-Valencia is allegedly the getaway driver. The state's attorney said he arrived in Miami from Chile earlier this month. Police suspect he may be part of an international crime ring.

I am guessing that the others bailed out of a moving car before the police cornered the driver.
Souds like mine, except I also have a dog who’s half American Bulldog, a quarter American Staffordshire Terrier (two breeds often called “Pit Bulls”), a bit German Shepard, some Lab, and the rest Curbstone Setter, and he weighs 87 lb. Along with toys similar to yours that makes me pretty safe. And, BTW, I live in the Knoxville, TN area where we honor the 2d Amendment.

2 female Rotties who dearly love their daddy. They are so smart. If I let you in and you behave they will not bother you. However, if you don’t belong there then you are fair dinkum. They are super protective of kids whether they know them or not.
Read a book about a burglar once. Seemed a decent kind of fellow that would not have hurt the girl. Not sure he ever broke into a house, just snuck into a mountain for some dwarves that were having a bit of a dragon issue. Little guy eventually retired some place far to the west.
If a burglar doesn’t know someone is inside the house hiding and leaves without confrontation was it really a robbery or false imprisonment?
So the police caught a witness, if the interviewer does well.
I figured it had to be an upperclass neighborhood, and likely that the victim was black.
They honor second amendment here too in North Florida.
Last year some enterprising crook broke into a home and began to flee when the homeowner spotted him. He blasted him. Press asked Sheriff what he would be charged with. Sheriff looked a tad bemused and said, crooks have to understand this is NE Florida and just about every homeowner here has a gun. You break in, you are probably going to be shot...next question.
