A Texas English teacher is being investigated after he was filmed beating a student and pinning him violently against a classroom wall.
The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon at Humble High School, which is located just outside of Houston, and left the 10th grade boy in the emergency room with injuries.
Footage showed the teacher slamming the student to the ground and overturning a table, then holding him against a wall as other students tried to pull them apart.
The teacher was placed on leave, and the boy's father, Elvert Bolden, is demanding he be barred from ever teaching again. Bolden said the 'upsetting' fight started because the teacher thought his son was being too loud.
The shocking clip showed the teacher in a purple sweatshirt grappling the student dressed in black.
The student appeared to be escaping from the teacher, who held him by the arm as the pair toppled over a table and sent chairs flying in the classroom scrum.

That teacher is going to be very Humble in the Texas state prison.
We are seeing the edited part of the video. Typically there is much more to the story, always is.
Good thing I am not that boys father, teacher would be missing the using a straw to eat with.
I see what you did there. :-)
I remember a woman substitute teacher who was given charge of a unruly class decades ago. She walked in, told the kids who she was, then said..
“I understand you ran off the last teacher. If any of you want to give me trouble, (she then picks up a big stick of firewood) let’s get it over with now!”
She said that was the best mannered class she ever taught.
Some students believe it is their calling in life to drive the teachers over the edge.
Maybe you should HAVE (no of) taught that boy some respect.
“Maybe the young man was a discipline problem.”
The tax payers of the Humble Independent School District are going to make that young man wealthy.
Yes, reinforce the poor behavior, set the boy on course for prison. Good on you, tough guy!
And that’s an excellent example of why a friend from college quit teaching 20 years ago.
He’s a big white dude from Ohio farming country. Corn-fed farm boy. 6’5” and 265 lbs. Big as a house and strong as an ox but as mellow as they come, unless you push him beyond normal limits. He taught Jr. HS in Inglewood, CA for 5 years but finally had enough of the feral inner-city “yutes”, their “kill whitey” attitude, their apathetic parents (aka: my momses, gammy, aunty or the occasional daddy), and hostile black school administrators.
He said it was a never ending battle fighting against feral black children, their feral mothers, and feral Affirmative Action employed school administrators. It was absolute insanity. Violent, chaotic and insane. He got to the point where he felt so hopeless that he wanted to bash their skulls and decided it was time give up on the inner-city and move on to greener pastures.
“The boy’s father…”
You won’t from that guy until the settlement talks.
“Yes, reinforce the poor behavior, set the boy on course for prison.”
The only one going to prison is that teacher.
they have to separate those that want to learn from the rest
Might be. The students will be so much better off.
Five years later the kid was in a maximum security state prison doing 30 years.
So what exactly transpired prior to the start of that phone video?
And what is the kid's classroom and school history?
I know you have all that information, so let us know so we can make the same judgement as you did........
My father also told us boys, if you ever get thrown in jail don’t call me to bail you out. You’ll be safer in there than if I get my hands on you.
Love you dad.
Sadly, I had the same thought.
It hasn’t occurred to you that the kid might NEED it? The biggest problem in schools - and why I quit after my student teaching IN THE 80S - is the lack of discipline. One friend decked a teen in school...right after the kid called him an obscenity and spat in his face!
If schools allowed teachers to DISCIPLINE and not require them to SUBMIT to butthead students disrupting the class, I’d have become a teacher. As it was (and is), I wouldn’t do it for 3 times the pay they offer.
PS: A member of my extended family was disciplined as a teacher when he physically restrained a kid who was smashing computers. He quit.

Students needs to be told that everyday in the classroom.
