It hasn’t occurred to you that the kid might NEED it? The biggest problem in schools - and why I quit after my student teaching IN THE 80S - is the lack of discipline. One friend decked a teen in school...right after the kid called him an obscenity and spat in his face!
If schools allowed teachers to DISCIPLINE and not require them to SUBMIT to butthead students disrupting the class, I’d have become a teacher. As it was (and is), I wouldn’t do it for 3 times the pay they offer.
PS: A member of my extended family was disciplined as a teacher when he physically restrained a kid who was smashing computers. He quit.

Yep. This teacher seriously injured the student. The district said he wanted the student to “sit down and listen.”
Unless the student physically attacked the teacher first before the video started, there was no reason to lay a hand on the kid.
