The problem with this very flawed ad campaign by Victoria's Secret is two-fold.

1. Very obese women will typically not wear sexy lingerie around the house or even in the bedroom, even if it is sized for them. So while they may appreciate the campaign, they will continue to buy and wear yoga pants and sweat suits from Wal-Mart.

2. Many normal sized women will no longer ship at Victoria's Secret after seeing that ad campaign. Part of the appeal of Victoria's Secret was the exclusivity of the brand. Women who wear that lingerie are presumed to be very pretty with svelte figures. Those type of women do not want to wear clothing that is now marketed for obese women. They will find someplace else to buy their sexy lingerie.

That's just the way it is. Go woke. Go broke.

Excellent summary.

I’ll just add that as an older woman who no longer has the ‘Army Ready’ body that she had through her 30’s, I agree that we ‘mature’ gals like pretty things to wear too, but even back when I COULD have shopped there, I never did.

At that age, I had teenage nieces and Goddaughters in my life; it was a place for THEM to shop, not me.

And it was nobody’s business what I wore under my BDUs, LOL!
