San Diego is scary landing. The approach is over mountains (always at night or fog for me), then they come right down through the city past buildings and 20 feet over a parking structure.

Yup. The ALPA gives it a black star and consider it to be the 5th most dangerous US airport. BTW John Wayne ranks 2nd or 3rd on that list.

Yeah, I was never comfortable flying into Lindbergh.

First time I was in San Diego, I was at the gas pump, looked up and actually saw the passengers in the window seats. I freaked !

Ketchikan and Sitka Alaska airports are no fun either.

Last time I flew into Ketchikan, we had just touched down when the pilot went full throttle and pulled us back up, circled around and then landed. Then he came on the radio and said if we thought that was scary, we should have seen the look on the bald eagle’s face that he almost hit. He said it dropped the salmon on the runway too.

On a good day when you land, the pilot is on the brakes so hard your face is in the seatback in front of you!
