Bismarck was a great leader. However, he invented the modern social welfare system.

That is why we have so many bad laws, most of which we don’t need.

You may not want to see them get made, but you also don’t want them to get hid. >.<

Laws are like sausages, it is better not to see them being made.Right. Everyone should simply turn away and let the sausage makers add more toxins to the laws/sausage.

“ Bismarck was a great leader. However, he invented the modern social welfare system.”
I believe he did that to blunt the rise of the Communists.

Back in Boys State (1970?) that’s what we learned. Laws are compromises balancing disparate interests. But it always presumes some degree of honesty and balance.

Should have line item veto at all levels.
They should make it such that any bill (not yearly budget) that requires Gov expenditure to be a 60% or 2/3rd majority to pass.
Only budgetary bills have funding lines. And any Non-Budgetary bills are not allowed to contain any funding lines.

Not factual. It’s better to make laws in an open process. The only reason for saying we shouldn’t watch is they are lying and working against us.
Back to sausages they are defrauding us by using poor quality ingredients, fillers and working in a filthy kitchen. The sausage room needs a glass wall.

Lawlessness is like sewage, one it starts to pool you end up with a cesspool no matter what you call it.

When normal sausages are made, you eventually end up with something edible, tasty and nutritious
When laws are made in Washington DC now - its still like watching sausages being made - but with loads of pig shyte and toxic chemicals, that are then being labelled as “organic” and gourmet

"Bismarck was a great leader. However, he invented the modern social welfare system."
I read a translation of his memoirs in college some seventy years ago. It was a good read; I was impressed at how sharp (and cynical) he was. One quote I remember, "The only thing wrong with monarchy is there is too much petticoat influence." The Prussian king's wife was pro-French.
His memoirs are available for download in the Internet.

Bismarck was quoted as speaking about sausage and diplomacy but close enough.
