Retired Air Vice-Marshal Sean Bell discusses the situation in Bakhmut and why Russia is making slow progress trying to take the city.
Will this be the 40th or 41st time that the Russians have captured Bakhmut? I keep loosing track.
Hide-and-seek in Russian: endless mobilisation continues but there are ways to avoid it

Another 350,000 people will be drafted into the Russian army. This was discussed during Putin’s final speech at the collegium of the Ministry of Defense. The minister of the department, Shoigu, says that the number of the Armed Forces should be increased to one and a half million people. And amid the war with Ukraine, he announced a reform in the army. Another 120,000 Russians should go to the army before the New Year as part of the autumn draft campaign. Military analysts note that because of the war, the regular procedure for searching for recruits has surpassed previous ones in terms of the scale of raids and the number of violations. How to protect yourself from mobilization?
- US prepares a 1.85 billion USD aid package for Ukraine; - Package includes Patriot missile battery;
- Western media notes Ukraine's use of Patriot missiles will compound existing missile shortage;
- Package falls short in terms of artillery ammunition;
- Pentagon contracts for additional ammunition for Ukraine's Soviet-era weapon systems falls far short of meeting Ukraine's weekly requirements let alone what it will require over the next month or year;
- Pentagon provides a "fact sheet" listing all support the US has provided since Russia's special military operation began in late February;
- Many systems on the Pentagon's end-of-year list cannot be replaced nor production ramped up for years to come;
- Russia's military appears prepared for long-term, intense, large-scale combat, it's forces arrayed for such fighting, its stockpiles large enough to supply it, hinting at the possibility Russia's military industrial output is also prepared to sustain it.

Russian military prepares for conflict with neocons and NATO
Alexander: Putin says again, and he has said this several times, the West’s goal is to destroy Russia; to dismember it. That Russia therefore is in a state of confrontation with the West. This is going to be an enduring and long lasting one and the Russians have, therefore, been pushed into a position where they have no choice but to remilitarize.
And this is going to be a military build up on an enormous scale. Another half a million men joining the Russian army. Ten motorized rifle divisions being created, Three of them are completely new. Seven will be developed out of brigades. There is going to be more emphasis on strategic weapons. More emphasis on the air force; but the priority is now going to be the ground forces. As I’ve said 10 motorized infantry divisions. Two new military districts in Moscow and in the Leningrad region that is the area that surrounds St. Petersburg. A new army corp opposite Finland in Kraelia. Beefing up of Russian tank divisions and tank forces. This wasn’t fully spelled out. A massive expansion of the Russian army. Two more air assault divisions. Now the Soviet Union had 7 paratroop divisions. Russia is now going to have six; but supplementing those six paratroop divisions there’s going to be all kinds of independent air mobile brigades and all that sort of thing so ultimately Russia’s air borne divisions will probably outnumber what the Soviet Union deployed. And five naval infantry divisions replacing naval infantry brigades.
And another thing was an enormous increase in Russian military production and Putin is talking about the fact that military production increased very significantly in 2022; but that it is going to increase by orders of magnitude in 2023 and beyond. He said we have the financial resources to do it...our economy is in good shape. We are fully capable of doing this. We don’t need to do what the Soviet Union did which is militarize our entire society and militarize our entire economy because we have the resources, we have the factories, we have the scientists, we have the engineers, we have the laboratories. We have all these things and we have the production facilities going as well.
So the West is now in an arms race in Europe. It is going to face a Russian military juggernaut which is heading in it’s direction because let’s be absolutely clear what’s coming and it’s going to squash Ukraine in it’s path.

Another Mariupol for The Dirty Green Sweatshirt?
Wonder how many American/NATO advisors are going to get wiped out when the Russians "click on" the Patriot missile battery?

Good advice.
Interesting article (and comments on it) on Larry Johnson’s website. Some people seem to think history may repeat itself.
https://sonar21.com/videos-not-to-be-seen/
In May 1961, U.S. Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson visited Saigon and enthusiastically declared Diệm the “Winston Churchill of Asia”. Asked why he had made the comment, Johnson replied, “Diệm’s the only boy we got out there.” Johnson assured Diệm of more aid in molding a fighting force that could resist the communists.
Diem learned the hard way that once your U.S. backers anoint you as the next Churchill, your days are numbered. Diem was murdered as a consequence of a U.S. engineered coup.
That’s exactly what they’re doing. Shilling for every one of our dollars they can get their grubby little mitts on.
The 2024 US "elections" aren't going to steal themselves...
Absolutely none.
And Russia is incapable of “clicking on” the Patriot missile battery
