Read how much Trump paid — or didn’t pay — in taxes each year

The amount of income, deductions and taxes paid by or refunded to former President Donald Trump while serving in the White House was detailed in a new report released Tuesday night.

The report reveals that Trump on his federal tax returns declared negative income in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2020, and that he paid a total of $1,500 in income taxes for the years 2016 and 2017.

On their 2020 income tax returns, Trump and his wife Melania paid no federal income taxes and claimed a refund of $5.47 million, according to the report by the staff of the Joint Committee on Taxation.

The report was posted online shortly after the Ways and Means Committee voted to make public redacted versions of Trump’s full income tax returns, and those of eight related business entities for the tax years 2015 through 2020.

“,,, claimed a refund of $5.47 million,,,,”

Talk about not getting any praise for giving an interest-free “loan” to the feral givernment. No good deed goes unpunished.

The word “audit” is overused in conjunction with the IRS. I’ve known numerous people who’ve received correspondence from the IRS, in the form of letters coded CP-210.

My clients called me whenever they received one, which I handled for them. Any IRS correspondence to them is construed as an “audit.” There is no doubt in my professional mind that the Trump Organization received many such letters .

The IRS is one of the most intrusive agencies in the Federal Government. Your categorization of this as a lie just earned you 3.8 Pinocchios.

Welcome to Free Republic, a site with a diverse set of experts in many fields. Personally, I have represented many clients before the IRS, to the overwhelming satisfaction of my clients. We’re not talking penny ante situations, either. I’m talking about amounts over $100K for individual filers, and multi million audits of corporations.

Why we need DeSantis 2024 more than ever.

Funny how no Democrats were clamoring to have Ron DeSantis' tax returns publicized.

There's a reason for that.

He's part of the nation's political establishment.

On their 2020 income tax returns, Trump and his wife Melania paid no federal income taxes and claimed a refund of $5.47 million ...

And you can't claim a refund of $5.47 million unless you've already paid at least $5.47 million in income taxes.

What Americans are learning is that Trump paid more money in Federal taxes in a typical year than most Americans earn in a lifetime.

Now that the Precedent has been set, I hope the Ways and Means committee under the New Speaker will subpoena and then RELEASE the Tax Return of every prominent democrat in Congress.

History
The caucus originated during the mid–January 2015 Republican congressional retreat in Hershey, Pennsylvania.[23] According to founding member Mick Mulvaney, “that was the first time we got together and decided we were a group, and not just a bunch of pissed-off guys”.[24] Nine conservative Republican members of the House began planning a new congressional caucus separate from the Republican Study Committee and apart from the House Republican Conference. The founding members who constituted the first board of directors for the new caucus were Republican representatives Scott Garrett of New Jersey, Jim Jordan of Ohio, John Fleming of Louisiana, Matt Salmon of Arizona, Justin Amash of Michigan, Raúl Labrador of Idaho, Mulvaney of South Carolina, Ron DeSantis of Florida and Mark Meadows of North Carolina.[25]

The elite in this country have built an elaborate system that allows those who can afford a fancy accounting firm to structure their assets and income streams to minimize taxes. Now those same hypocrites call out Trump for playing within the system they built. The system is corrupt. Fix the system. Get rid of 99% of tax law, fire 99% of IRS employees.
