I totally agree. But thank goodness she hurt no one but herself. So I think the lessons of the Gospels apply. Forgive, and that hope she finds peace in what’s next. That is especially true because Heche had a hard life.

As do we all. It's bad karma to defile the dead. We all have to face our Creator and answer for our actions. God says He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked. You might learn from His example as difficult as that may be.

It's quit obvious she brought all this on herself - even reports just prior to her crash she had already run into the corner of a building and witnesses said she was driving erratically then...and video shows her speeding later. Unfortunately whatever was feeding her rampage clearly it was not going to end well.

I just saw an article that says

Coroner says Anne Heche wasn't under influence of drugs or alcohol when she crashed

which I found surprising.

From the article:

Anne Heche was not impaired by alcohol or any substance at the time of her death, according to a new report from the L.A. County Medical Examiner-Coroner office that was reviewed Tuesday by The Times.

However, a blood sample drawn in the emergency room did show the presence of an inactive cocaine metabolite, the report said, indicating that the actor had used the drug in the days before her death.

Evidence of cannabinoids and benzodiazepine were found in a urine sample taken after she was admitted to the hospital, indicating that she had also used those drugs in recent days, but did not appear in the blood sample. Fentanyl was also present in the urine sample, but that was consistent with the drug being administered in the hospital for pain.

She died because she crushed her chest in the accident. That, combined w/ the smoke, meant that the brain was deprived of oxygen causing it to fail. The drugs make for clickbait headlines, but that wasn’t the major medical problem.

Heche did indeed die of her own behavior. Behavior she engaged in willingly, no one forced her to snort cocaine . An addict deserves no sympathy for their self-destructive behavior. Addicts manipulate sympathy for their own selfishness and self-centeredness. Behavior which often leads to innocent people being, at the worst emotionally harmed or at worse injured or dead.

As a recovering alcoholic with 32 years sobriety it's only by the grace of God I never killed anyone driving bombed out of my skull.
