A FedEx driver confessed to abducting and killing 7-year-old Athena Strand after he delivered a package to her family's home, Wise County Sheriff Lane Akin said at a press conference Friday night.
Police found Strand's body southeast of Boyd, Texas. Digital evidence and interviews lead investigators to believe that Strand died within an hour of her abduction, according to Akin.

First, I would create a man sized belt sander. No, I wouldn’t leave him on there for too long. Just the front and the back. Then a nice salt bath, with some smoking hot tar as a topping. I do self imposed FB prison. I’ve made maybe 8 or 9 postings on there in 14 years. I joined to keep up with family and a few friends, but with texting and email I pretty much cover that without FB. My wife won’t join it, but uses my account to look at Marketplace almost every day, and checks my home page stuff for me (stuff I probably already know about).
Then she saw a family friend that wanted to ‘friend’ us, and instead of friending just that one, she clicked once and friended over 50 some people that had asked me to friend them. For that miscue I’ve threatened her with closing my account, lol. I’ve told most of the original ones that if they think I’m on there because of the green dotted profile pic, they would almost certainly be mistaken.
