We finally got some desperately needed rain over the past few days with a hint of more on the way. Not enough, though.

My re-blooming irises are actually re-blooming now in December:

And, the sticky monkey plant loves the cool air, after months of endless heat:

Not much to do in the garden so my helpers have decided to take it easy and wait for Santa:

We have serious gardening activity in Florida! These are my Christmas decorations.

Indeterminate beefsteak tomato is reaching for the moon. Nearing 7 feet tall. Also growing yellow plum and mortgage lifter.

Salad table is percolating tom thumb, red romaine, and freckles lettuce, green and scarlet scallions, baby carrots, radishes.

More container gardening with russet potatoes, broccoli, turnips, beets, red creole onions, and slow-to-germinate celery. Additional tomato seedlings will be planted over the next few days and weeks. These include black cherry, red cherry, sungold and little blonde girl.

I've got a lot, but these are my favorites, that get used the most. Oldies, but goodies, that have stood the test of time.

It was another dry week here in Central Missouri. The garden is patiently waiting for me to finish cleaning up and spread some more horse poo around.

In spite of my recent neglect there’s still some stuff growing in my greenhouse. It’s looking like there might be some green salad ready to pick by Christmas.

Placed a couple seed orders over the weekend. Hat tip to Pete for pointing me to Johnny’s for the Kaitlin cabbage seeds.

I reinstalled Nanner’s steering cylinder yesterday morning, unhooked the roto-tiller and put the back blade on, then spent a couple hours grooming the driveway. Used up most of a 26 ton load of surface rock and it wouldn’t hurt to add that much more before the nasty winter weather arrives.
