I remember Katrina; the governor and mayor did not want to ask Bush for help, politically driven. The media and democrats were going crazy because Bush didn’t take over the situation.
But he was following the constitution. Then, when he did send FEMA, the media and democrats castrated him for what he did.
I’m not sticking up for Bush now, but that’s what happened then.

A) Schumer sets up agreement to finish the defense bill tonight. But no deal to avert an immediate government shutdown yet.
B) The Senate will soon take a vote on the plan offered by Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) to increase energy permitting. That requires 60 yeas.
C) There will also be a vote on a plan by Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Ron Johnson (R-WI) to reinstate service members who were fired because they refused the COVID vaccine. That requires 60 yeas.
Then, later tonight, final passage of the defense bill.
D) There is no agreement yet tonight on passing the interim spending bill to avoid a government shutdown this weekend
