Our 7 year old Oorang Airedale has canine epilepsy. He had his first seizure about 1 1/2 years ago and has had one about every six months since. Last week he had 4 in a 24 hour period. He is now on anti-seizure medication and we have him on a bunch of non-prescription supplements to help his kidneys (anti-seizure med can be hard on kidneys) and to hopefully ward off future seizures. Since starting all these new meds/supplements he is back to his normal busy, goofy, self. Hopefully it stays that way.
Somebody tossed an 11-year-old dog out at the end of my driveway, and I adopted her. I have had her teeth cleaned twice for a total of over $1200 and the bloodwork prior to the last one showed elevated enzymes. She had a liver ultrasound and fine needle aspiration biopsy of the liver done and nothing was found. The Vet recommended liver supplements plus milk thistle so she’s taking them. They said not to worry about it, keep giving her the supplements, and have the enzymes checked at her annual exams. She’s a sweet old girl so I hope the supplements work.
