1. Does anyone know what their average salary was?
2. Do you think it'll be easy for most to get a job that's just as good as they had?
Just curious.
I wonder why you are wondering about it.
There are NO jobs as good as they had. Paid lunches, yoga time, nap time and/or wine bar. Minimum requirements for results. They done killed that golden egg producer.
C’mon, man! These “employees” probably already have other jobs at the FIB or CIA or NSA or DOJ and just moonlight at Twitter! The only badge they’ll have to give up is there Twitter one, they just won’t be able to CENSOR conservatives anymore.
Was living in the SFO region a requirement? That might detract from whatever salary they were given.
3. Does anyone care about the fate of ex-Twitter employees?
Twit employees will learn about gift horses.
I saw something a week or so ago about the Twitter folks losing their jobs, in addition to the 11k that Facebook was firing. Article stated that 100k IT folks have lost their jobs this year.
Biden says that foreigners should be able to compete for American jobs. He’s increased visas for foreign workers and, of course, Mike Lee has been trying to get more H1Bvisa folks into Utah to fill IT jobs.
And to think, the previous President reduced, damn near eliminated, H1B visas so these clowns could keep their jibs, get better jobs and make more money. But….Orange Man Bad.
Would you like fries with that?
I was wondering that too. But now I’m wondering why you and I are wondering the same thing.
Heh. I was gonna guess 120k.
Where I live they can easily get a job at Amazon. They are always hiring.
$15 an hour.
Don’t know and don’t care
I have a feeling some harsh reality will be in their future. Tech firms are cutting back and there are only so many places that need an army of toddlers in an adult body who know how to code. BUT HEY. Maybe they can get a job in the John Kerry Solar Panel Factory next to the unemployed pipeline workers.
Back in the late 90’s, my friend was a first level manager in the IT department of a large and famous retail chain. I also worked there as a COBOL developer.
He said that one day he was looking at his IT (COBOL/CICS) contractors working in a cubicle bay and saw the americans, at a $75 an hour billing rate, and the Indians, at a $17 an hour billing rate, doing the same work and, truth be told, the Indians were harder workers.
He wondered why he was using american contractors
Recently there have been a lot of layoffs in high tech and the job market is cool down. It was really hot last year and early this year. So I am skeptical that all these people quit.
truth be told, the Indians were harder workers.
And, more importantly, they didn’t call in sick, bitch moan and complain. Why?
Because their visas could be revoked at any time. They may as well have been indentured servants.
That is, until their wife came over, got pregnant and popped out a citizen. Then the visa didn’t mean much anymore. After that, the whole family was on the way. And they learned how to scam the system.
Do you have a specific citation where he said the foreigners compete for us jobs?
Regarding question #2, perhaps the fired Twitter employees should form a new, ultra-liberal version of Twitter to compete with Musk’s version.
This new version will probably fail spectacularly, much like Al Franken’s ultra-liberal ‘Air America’ network did. That would be fun to watch.
