This week, the citizens of Pennsylvania stole the loving cup of stupid from the citizens of another politically calcified state, New Mexico.
Students of American history will remember Philadelphia as the first capital of the new United States of America after the ratification of the Constitution. That city was the center of American politics and political life, but ten years later it lost that distinction to the swampy lands of Washington in the District of Columbia. On June 11th in 1800, Philly faded into the background in favor of Washington. Power had shifted, and the state reverted back to its trade, commerce, and agriculture. Pennsylvania's namesake, William Penn, was a prominent writer and Quaker and the state is in his debt for his efforts to make it a showcase for commerce. Penn's son, Thomas, came to Pennsylvania in 1732 and during the nine years of his stay there he successfully negotiated the sale of 1.2 million acres of land from an indigenous Indian tribe to the new province of Pennsylvania. He died 15 years before Philadelphia became the capital of that state (or commonwealth as it adopted the British term).
Pennsylvania is a very diverse place, and it is a state with a bifurcated political landscape. Most of rural PA is conservative, but hardcore liberals populate its cities. The state is an energy state with abundant resources, and it is home to a prestigious private ivy league research university, the University of Pennsylvania (located in Philadelphia) along with Carnegie Mellon, Swarthmore, and Villanova. It's proud of its working class and its historical intellectual prowess, but the recent mid-term victory of a bumbling, oafish hipster politician John Fetterman, over a medical doctor of national repute is puzzling and reflects the rampant spread of stupid.

Freakin Yankees and West Coast freaks...good grief! NY,NJ,PA,MD,WI,MN,MI,VT,MA,CA,OR,WA. Got no damn sense whatsoever.
Dems idolize freaks.
Travis McGee's graphic above shows the PA GOP could have run Ronald Reagan and lost by the same margin. Oz was no doubt the wrong guy - but where in PA is the right guy hiding?
They are “above the fold” informed, not to mention magazines in doctors offices with dark foreboding pictures of DJT on the cover, “Is democracy dead?”
Ok, i agree that Pennsylvania is full of stupid people but where i live ,it’s RED as can be. We did our part and voted all REP.in our district and shunned Puddinhead and Syphilis.
I hate cities.
Exactly. When you have 52% mail-in ballots shotgunned to every registered voter, with no verification, (compared to 10% for the GOP), Fetterman would have beaten the 1980 Ronald Reagan.
Well yeah, these jokers have been trying to inflict their agenda on people instead of just doing their job of representing their voters. One involves a top down approach, the other involves a bottom up approach. They are even legislating to keep people from leaving, there was an effort to place bounties on people for doing so, this is iron curtain crap!

Dear Pennsylvania Police Officers,
Instead of staying where the people vote for someone who wants to let murders out of jail, consider moving South.
Our Police Departments are hiring, and we would appreciate your service.
Move South.
Beautifully written.
There is a place in Pennsylvania where a dead man won a seat in the state legislature, and Fetterfog won the area in the Senate election. Hallucinogenic mushrooms must grow wild there.
It’s been controlled by the GOP, it looks like the Senate is undisputedly still in GOP hands, but that the House may flip thanks to some races that haven’t been called yet, which would be a political earthquake. I hadn’t heard about that until you mentioned it.
State legislature take over has to do with the forced redistricting the court created.
Yep, this election was literally, and I’ve said it for a long time, you will get to decide whether you want your crap sandwich with or without corn...
That literally was this election. Absolute joke across the board.
Considering the amount of vote fraud in that state, it’s hard to blame the people.
The powers that be are the stupid party who “voted” for one of their own.
There is no hacking of the machines. The mail in ballots are not auditable and therefore can be processed multiple times or sets of prefabbed ballots run through the system. Very easy steal. the Book “Parallel Election” offers a view of 2020. People with an unauditable system can commit fraud. Check out Frank Ryans tesimony on the SURE system from 2020 and the 2020 Wake TSI assessment. ALso the Auditor Generals “Audit” of the SURE system that was thwarted by our own Sec of State Bookvar.
Feral is spreading at a rapid rate liberals states and cities prove it.
They need a sign posted at their state lines
WELCOME TO THE GATES OF HELL
No, I am saying that to win in PA as a Republican you better be able to built EXCITEMENT and MOTIVATE turnout and support for you... you better be able to not only get the GOP to turn out but turn out at INSANE levels, you better get I’s to buy into you big and you better be able to peel off conservative democrats (at least some of them).
Oz didn’t and couldn’t do that. he won in the places GOP candidates always win, but didn’t remotely run up the numbers to the levels he needed to there.
Anyone who would have spent 5 seconds of time outside of the Philly/NJ border are of PA and actually spoke to voters would have seen OZ’s problems... there was absolutely ZERO enthusiasm for this guy... basically even among the most staunchest of reliably republican voters, the consensus was he’s a turd, but at least he’s not Fetterman... and that’s not going to cut it as a Republican trying to win statewide in PA.
In 2016 and 2020, you could tell Trump was going to crush it, the excitement was evident in any conversation, if you found a Trump voter, they were excited about the prospects and plan to vote Trump... OZ... nope, nothing. Finding someone who said they were going to vote OZ, the conversation almost always was, some form of, yep this is a crap election, but I’m gonna vote Oz because at least he’s not Fetterman.
That ain’t gonna cut it in a state with a 600,000 D registration advantage.
OZ was stillborn from day one... the only way he could have won is if this election was a total repudiation of the D brand, and in that case a ham sandwich would win as long as it had an R by its name, that was the ONLY prayer Oz had of a statewide win.. He was just completely off brand, and a lousy candidate to boot.
Had he run for some purple congressional district out east, he would have had a decent shot at winning, but statewide in PA? Not a chance in hell, and it was apparent from the start. The folks that put him up should be ashamed of themselves, and should spend a lot of time introspecting what the hell delusions they were under thinking this guy had any prayer here.
This was going to be a TOUGH state to win for even a great R candidate, it always is... Oz, never had a prayer at a statewide victory, and the people who were selling you “electability” is why you should vote for him in the Primary, were all complete and total fools, or flat out liars.
“The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter.”
― Winston S. Churchill
Yep, the clear and absolute winner of the GOP debates here, she lambaste both Oz and McCormic, and completely stole the show... her entire campaign budget was something like $150k.. and she shot up in the polls, once people saw her, and then the establishment attacked her with every lie and dirty trick in the book... If the GOP fought the dems as hard as they fought to destroy Barnette, Dems would never stand a chance.
She absolutely ripped McCormick and Oz apart in the debates, called them out on their WEF connections, called them out on the gun control claims. etc etc.. it was glorious to behold.. but the establishment has no place for true conservatives in this state, other than wanting their vote every few years... So they unleashed ugliness never seen when she took the lead in the polling.. and she managed to take the lead in a matter of a week or two... against 2 folks who had each spend months and 10s of millions of dollars trying to get votes.
GOP of PA is a huge part of the problem here.. the leadership of it anyway...
