Be careful what you wish for, liberal media: you might get it.
Morning Joe was in a great good mood today, glorying in the absence of a midterm red wave. And Joe Scarborough wasted no time in taunting Donald Trump.
Willie Geist is normally the most even-handed of the Morning Joe crew. So it was surprising that he authored the unkindest cut of all. Referring to Ron DeSantis's stunning victory in the Florida governor's race, in which he won by almost 20 points and carried outright the traditional Dem stronghold of Miami-Dade, Willie said:
"It would appear this morning, this is Ron DeSantis's party and not Donald Trump's."

With those comments, he is taunting Trump. Trump’s ego will overwhelm him into saying things we wish he wouldn’t say. Stay tuned.
This. I can’t believe people are making it about Desantis and getting suspicious of him now. 🙄
Beware of Democrats praising certain Republicans.
NO IT IS NOT! Trying to Spin.
If the liberal media is celebrating DeSantis, it makes me wonder about DeSantis.
He’s a good governor, but you can’t be as partisan as Governor as you can as President. There is also a lot that we don’t know behind closed doors.
Having said that, I’d like to believe that DeSantis is putting on an act of some kind.
Have to remember DeSantis was in Congress with Ryan as Speaker. I also understand that DeSantis has had talks with Ryan and some other RINOS. But DeSantis better remember who had his back when he ran for Governor. Trump!!!
It will be a shame for the people of Florida that DeSantis now turns his back on them for his own political aspirations after just being reelected. Guess we shall see.
DeSantis governed as a solid conservative and fixed the voting rules so Florida has election integrity.
DeSantis cannot do that for the rest of the nation. So if he, or whomever becomes the nominee, they will lose because the fraud is now baked-in.
We did not flip any governor seat. All the covid tyrants are still in place. All the vote-by-mail governors retained their seats or were replaced by other Democrats.
If Lucifer was a Trump foil these fools would choose poorly again.
You really ca not repair stupid.
The liberal media hates DeSantis as does morning Joe and his skank wife.
DeSantis is Trump without the tweets and insults.
I look forward to the day they are all hating on DeSantis so much, they will start lamenting over the good ole Trump days, and his thoughtful tweets. Just like they love the Bush family.
You will be voting for Trump in Nov. ‘24.
Get used to the idea.
Where else are you going to go?
I will gladly vote for Trump but I don’t think he has a chance to win, everyone knows him, if the country can elect a brain damaged person as POTUS and an even more brain damaged person as a US Senator, any living Democrat could defeat him.
And if by some chance Trump is defeated by DeSantis or another Republican, I would hope the diehard Trumpers would realize it’s not about Trump, it’s about the country and that is far more important than one person.
Right. Once they finish off Trump, they will silently and seamlessly denominate DeSantis as public enemy #1 and commence his disintegration as rapidly as politically possible.
Mika did not have a headache last night, that’s why Joe is elated.
“We did not flip any governor seat. All the covid tyrants are still in place. All the vote-by-mail governors retained their seats or were replaced by other Democrats.”
A crying shame, that is.
You mean steal-by-mail.
Mitch McConnell would probably disagree.
The Republic of Florida has managed to survive the ooze of the Swamp, and emerge as one of the few bright spots in what remains of the territory formerly know and the “United States of America. As a point in fact, there is very little unity between, say, New York State and particularly New York City, and much of what is known as “flyover country”, the same for the part of California perched on the Pacific Rim.
I am still all in favor of dividing the territory into the “Red Zone” which would continue to be governed by the historic standards of the Declaration of Independence and the original version of the US Constitution, with certain of the amendments deleted, and the scattered enclaves of the “Blue Zone” which may in fact be widely separated from each other, but allow them to set up whatever cockamamie command and control schemes they want to govern within their own enclaves. A very strongly enforced boundary would be set up between the nearly contiguous “Red Zone” and each of the scattered “Blue Zones”, and a carefully managed emigration of whomever is dissatisfied with the apparent mismanagement of the zone in which they find themselves, to the zone more appealing to their tastes. But the emigration would be only a one-time thing, with no take-backs.
Trade between the Red Zone and the various Blue Zones will be limited to humanitarian relief and the bare minimum needed to assure the retention of the newly formed status, lasting well into the time of firm establishment of recognized practices.
The division would be on the basis of something like existing Congressional districts, not on a state by state basis. Which is why there may be very few states that are included in the “Red Zone” in their entirety, but in parts of almost every state in the former United States of America. And why so many “Blue Zones” would exist.
The differences would be as stark as North and South Korea.
The left media, the Rats, and the Rinos are all in together to trash Trump.
Politics is a dirty business.
The UK national anthem speaks of it thusly: “Confound their politics/frustrate their knavish tricks”.
But without a King to implore such, we are stuck with counting the votes.
And Governor DeSantis is, without a doubt, a big winner here.
