Donald Trump is my favorite President, even more so than Ronald Reagan.
However, I think I’m moving on from him.
I like him in the role of a clarion-calling standard bearer, and his presidency was the best I have ever seen.
I don’t like him in terms of his failure to be a team player. I’m not even sure I like him as a kingmaker. Calling out numbers to make him look good, in a severely-disappointing election shows me he doesn’t care about the boots on the ground, but only how he looks.
Reagan faced the same Establishment hate and Media mocking, but he had a great way of playful rebuttal, with a twinkle in his eye and a little smile. America loved that. All the attacks mustered against him, failed, because he was able to gently turn it around on his attacker with a witty quip or a well thought out fact.
Reagan was also the author of the phrase, the 11th commandment, which was “Thou shall not attack a fellow Republican.”
Trump, on the other hand, has a serious ego problem. He cannot resist getting into a public verbal fight with anyone who criticizes him. While this was fresh and new in 2016, and propelled him into the presidency, it doesn’t work in 2022.
Also, the way Trump fights back is not nearly as good as Reagan’s style. Trump hasn’t got the charm of Reagan, and it’s beginning to hurt our side.
It is for these reasons that I must move on from Donald Trump. Sir, thank you for your incredibly wonderful service in 2016 through 2020. You made those years prosperous and sane. But it is time to move on.
I’m likely to get a ton of flak for this post. That’s okay, I can take it.
The Just will Rule over the insolent
Right, Trump lost because Republicans didn't vote for him in the general election. It was't independents and women who didn't vote for him. Okay
Reagan would never do that because he was a gentleman.
I’m with you, Bob.
I am trying to find a logical explanation for Trump’s recent behavior and statements.
What is it? Onset of Alzheimers? Brain tumor? Too many covid shots?
He has always had a mercurial disposition, but these attacks on Ron and Casey DeSantis are beyond the pale.
“I am trying to find a logical explanation for Trump’s recent behavior and statements.”
PTSD
That, too.
What the man has gone through in the past six years would give anyone PTSD.
I wish him better health, and most of all, peace of mind.

Yes. All of the that. He was our small-s savior” and maybe that was his gift to America before moving on to a nice retirement with his family.
Oh, this Butthurt Report is hilarious!
I know a few millennials I’d like to send it to. 😜
Started considering this some time ago. Agree with both of your assessments.
Thou shalt not attack a fellow conservative. (Reagan should’ve drawn that distinction). Trump attacking the likes of McConnell, Romney, McCain, and the Bushes and Cheneys (to name but a few) is not only kosher, it’s laudable.
But unprovoked and unjustified attacks against the best and most conservative governor in the nation for no reason other than petty jealousy reveals the character of a toddler, in addition to being politically suicidal.
I see a lot of people mentioning all the people who betrayed him, without coming to the conclusion that he might have driven them out. There were a lot of people in his admin who were conservatives in good standing who left, bad mouthed him, and became pariahs. I have also seen a lot of old names posting here that I haven't seen in years. It seems to me that there are as many divisions between conservatives caused by Trump, as coalitions created.
I dearly love the smell of ozone in the evening...
I thought I had seen one like this before..
ty, bookmarked this one too ;^D
Just my humble attempt to help push you over the 600 mark.
You deserve it :-)
I could list-—and you have all seen this-—all of Trump’s accomplishments in three years. Literally more than any other president since FDR, who had a totally malleable Congress.
IF ONLY because he saved us from the Paris Accord and TPP, either of which would have finished us off, I think we do OWE HIM. His border control was vastly better than any other president. No foreign wars. Returning Christianity to the center of the country.
To me, loyalty counts. He lost $1b as president-—the ONLY president in modern times to leave office less wealthy than when he went in-—and suffered a massive amount of abuse for,, yes, us. So unless his policies change, I’m for Trump 24 no matter what he says about RDS.
I agree.
Blackmailing DeSantis stinks. Stinks real bad.
His recent moves have been off-point and self-serving.
Is there a significance to getting to/over 600 posts?
Yes, I know this is probably post 600. It’s for Laz.
A trophy maybe?
