The Eagle's Watch
In a quiet river valley Lies a green and peaceful place, Where warriors come to rest, Having honorably met their fates.
No more do they stand the watch, Their worthy service done, They've passed their duties on To other Fathers' sons.
Yet flying high above them, On silent wings spread wide, Soars freedom.s embodiment And a country's sign of pride.
The mighty Eagle watches o'er all, And guards their well-earned rests. For he like they, knows the feel, Of Freedom in his chest.
And though he does his best to guard The fallen warriors' sleep, Still at times he grows so weary, And must rest his wings a-beat.
So slowly he glides his way, To where the fallen rest. And there he bides his time a bit, Among the honored Vets.
And though he knows no words, Of the valiant warriors' speech. Still they communicate, In a way that words can't reach.
Having communed with those who lie, Among the rows of stone. The Eagle takes to flight again, And resumes his post alone.
In endless soaring circles, He surely makes his rounds. Guarding the fallen heroes, Who make this hollowed ground. ~ Jack Cook

I remember, back around 2000 or so, I drove out west from Cleveland, Ohio, to Moab, Utah. On day 2 of the drive, I ws crossing into Colorado on I-76 (It veers southwest off I-80 into Denver), and it was fairly flat. but there were what I thought were clouds in the distance as I approached Denver. Well, after many miles, I came to the realization that those were the Rocky Mountains. Denver sits right on the edge.
What a sight!
I had the same reaction when I drove from Fort Gordon to Fort Lewis in 1971 and first saw the Rockies at Albuquerque.

The scrutiny of the patriots and the combo huge GOP early and big Election Day drop-offs broke the marxists cheating algorithms.
Early was very close to even. This broke them.

I don’t agree. All these recent “Truths” make Trump look immature, unstable and petty. I don’t think he would make them without some ulterior motive. He is not an idiot. Neither is Melania, who surely has influence over him and would explain to him why he needs to back off because of how his posting makes him look. So too would his sons. So he is willing to risk looking immature, unstable and petty for some reason.

The first sighting of the rockies was spectacular. Overwhelming really. Such beauty.
Now, the Appalachians are also beautiful and stunning, but in a very different way.

What a sight indeed. I love the Appalachians. They are old but peaceful. The Rockies were beautiful, harsh, and intimidating but they were mountains and relaxed me. I loved the Continental Divide. The high altitude made my husband sick but didn’t bother me at all.
