Taking over the majority in the House AND having a new MAGA speaker would be so wonderful. At a minimum I would like to have a republican Soeaker who does not have a mousy little weak voice.

I was very surprised last night by some of the comments on the live rally thread, turning on Trump in a nano-second.
I knew Trump had a good reason for the DeSantis nickname which we would learn in time and this seems to be one reason.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the past six years, it’s not to make a judgment call on anything Trump does until plenty of time has passed and we see the whole picture.
Bannon needs to have Rich Baris on tomorrow morning so we can all hear what proof he has of this. If this is true, that DeSantis was actually considering running against Trump in 2024, I would chalk him up as a two-faced opportunist as well. I guess one can be a great Governor and an ambitious opportunist at the same time.

Thank you for your support and prayers. The funding came through in a wonderful and slightly humorous way. I’ll share the story at some other time, though.
I’m all packed. The hubs is going to weigh my luggage to be sure, but I’m going with two fairly empty suitcases. I’m not taking much as I have duplicates at home. I’ll be fairly packed full when I return because we stock up on all sorts of goodies. Weird things to most people, but I’ll bring back a fully cooked turkey, some gravy mixes, stocking stuffers, other types of food mixes like mashed potatoes, salad dressings, taco seasonings etc. We do the reverse, too. My family thinks the best tea is Sari Wangi and we stock up. We bring back rendang mix and goodies to give away. I’m not doing that at this time because the trip was put together in about six hours or less.
Connie and I became very close during the exile due to covid bureaucracy. Nothing has been left unsaid. But, gosh and gee whiz, I thought she’d be here next summer.
