King Charles’ Wax Figure Smashed with Cake

King Charles III ‘s figure at Madame Tussauds in London was the latest victim of the Just Stop Oil protest.
Their message is clear. They’d rather freeze, destroy cake, and vandalize statues than have oil.
On Monday morning, at least two people affiliated with the U.K. [extremist] environmental coalition Just Stop Oil defaced the figure of the new King at Madame Tussauds in London.
As seen in a video on Twitter by TalkTV, a man and woman took over the royal display at the popular museum, removing outerwear to reveal “Just Stop Oil” t-shirts.
They want to just stop the oil and have the Brits all freeze to death since they have nothing to take its place.
The woman smashed a frosted cake into Charles’ statue’s face, and the man did the same, shouting a message.
“The science is clear. The demand is simple: Just stop new oil and gas. It’s a piece of cake,” one of the activists said stupidly.
The science isn’t at all clear. We’ve been mandated to believe it is. That’s clear.
Exhibitionists have always been with us.
This reminds me of the scene in War Games where Dabney Coleman is questioning Mathew Broderick and says, who are you working with? How come I don’t believe you? Who is the Mr Big behind these attacks? The terrorist attacks will continue until Mr Big goes to jail.
Soon they won’t have cake OR heat...

I am reminded of a scene from BECKET in which King Henry is soaked in a rain storm and goes to a hovel demanding “FIRE AND WARMTH!” and finds none.
BECKET: “Each hovel is allowed two measures of wood a year. One stick more and they are hanged.”
Henry: “My edict?”
Becket: “Your edict sire.”
I agree in general with the absurdity of the protests, but the fact is that British homes are rarely heated by oil, the majority use natural gas and electric heat. The same trend has been taking place in North America, the percentage of homes using oil has been dropping as people convert to natural gas, propane (not something I believe is part of European heating options), or electric heat. I have not lived in a home using heating oil as its primary source for quite a long time (since 1983) and when I did briefly rent one, I looked at all other alternatives because oil is really expensive compared to other options. In Canada a lot of people outside large towns use wood stoves for their basic heat and augment that with electric heaters as desired. The cost of a woodstove is about half the cost of fuel oil and a little better than natural gas too.
