My friend was telling me he was watching the pregame show for the MLB playoff game between the New York Yankees and the now Cleveland Guardians. [The game is currently rained out]
The announcers are Ernie Johnson and Hall-of-Fame pitcher Pedro Martinez. Martinez started calling them the Indians, and Johnson tried to current him, but Martinez just keeps calling them the Indians. Johnson was visibly annoyed and kept saying, "You mean Guardians."
Even after the commercial break, he came back and said Indians. And Johnson was saying Guardians as many times as he could, and it became passive aggressive
Wth do you mean by that?
I wasn’t much of a Pedro Martinez fan when he knocked over 80 year old Don Zimmer a few years back. I’ve changed my tune and enjoy his commentary. Speak the truth Pedro!!
I am rooting for the rain.

I call them the Indians. Always have, always will. Just like the Redskins.
I’d be embarrassed as hell to refer to them as the Guardians. What the hell are da boyz guarding? They’ll always be the Indians to me.
Guardians can’t win. They are always on the defensive. The best they can do is not lose. That’s why they are guardians. Cleveland Contubernia, Cleveland Centuria, Cleveland Cohorts or Cleveland Legions could win.
They were called the Bluebirds and then the Naps, their first two years in the AL.
I’ve been calling then the Deadskins for years, as a Cowboys fan that is.

I will never call them “Guardians”, any time I speak with anyone I call them the Cleveland Indians. Period. Same with the Redskins! We DO NOT have go comply nor surrender to their woke ideology.
The Redskins should have kept the name, and changed the logo to a red potato...
