A former Ohio high school teacher’s assistant and softball coach has pleaded guilty to charges related to a sexual relationship with a student she reportedly begged the student not to tell authorities about.

Ashley Rison, 31, an employee at New Miami High School, is facing five years in jail after pleading guilty Wednesday to sexual battery and gross sexual imposition in response to allegations she had sex with a 17-year-old student

Rison’s indictment states that she engaged in sexual conduct with the minor eight different times in April 2021.

“In addition to what the child tells us, we do have recordings between Ms. Rison and the child of where Ms. Rison makes multiple incriminating statements in asking, begging the child not to report her to the authorities,”

crimes were reported to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office on May 3, 2021, and Rison quit her job at the school on that same day.

It also states on other news that the inappropriate relationship was with one of the athletes she was in charge of supervising.
She coached girls softball. Maybe clarification will be coming in the near future.

I don’t see that 17 y/o as a ‘child’, although I understand that’s how the law see it. Not much in between.

I'm the same way. My father entered the Army on his 17th birthday in 1954 and soon after basic training, was sent to Ft. Knox to guard the gold and later onward to Camp Casey in South Korea. Of course, my grandmother had to sign but if a 17 year old can carry an M3 Grease Gun and later an M1911A1, that is not a child. My father was a photographer in the Army, even though he was a Private First Class, he was able to carry a sidearm because of all the photography equipment and cameras he had to carry.

I’ll bet your Dad had a couple of good stories about his time as a photographer in the service.
Back then, they needed a dark room with the tubs full of bleach and other rough smelling chemicals.
Had to worry about exposed film and all that.
