These are the times where you listen to the massive sign at your local pond that reads:
DON’T FEED THE FISH.
And here is the perfect example as to why you should heed those warnings…
Because you might lose a damn hand.
Ok, ok… maybe not lose a hand, but who knows what’s lurking in the deep.
In this video, you see a woman holding a hot dog over water, slapping the water with it, while hanging over a dock, and she says:

Especially in that particular pond, as those fish may have developed a taste for wieners.
That’s a risk you take if you chose to hand feed a wild animal. I’ve seen something close happen with somebody feeding horses or goats. When they’re eating, they see with their noses and tounges, not with their eyes.

Yowser! Florida Woman lives to tell her grandkids about the day she almost lost a limb for being a hot dog with a hot dog.
If her name is Karen she would demand to speak to a manager.
We do this all the time in the Keys. People even pay to do it at Robbies.
This reminds me of some “noodling for catfish” videos that I’ve seen.
I’ve seen many people do this at Robbie’s of Islamorada in the Florida Keys. They even sell bait fish to feed the tarpon. I have hand fed them but didn’t have the nerve to let them grab my hand, letting go at the last instant. But they have only scratchy teeth like sandpaper and the only damage they will do if they were to grab hold is scratch your hand and wrist.

Lol! Tarpon will eat anything. You don’t really need bait, they’ll still bite your hand. Ask me how i know.

Was with a relative that has a few horses... Stops to pick something at a friend’s farm, and he says “show him your hand”.

He said he was giving the horse a treat and NOT PAYING ATTENTION, three fingers bit off!
They introduced me to the horse that did it.
They pointed out all the muscles that work the jaw and how short the jaw is creating lots of leverage.
No hard feelings between him and his Appaloosa.
