Continuing an unbelievable journey in 2022 highlighted by unbridled creativity, unforgettable shows, and uncontainable shared energy, Red Hot Chili Peppers reveal their second full-length studio album of the year, Return of the Dream Canteen, available in stores and on all streaming platforms via Warner Records today.
Return of the Dream Canteen blossomed during the same sessions that yielded the group's chart topper Unlimited Love—which landed at #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart back in April. It not only marked their second #1 career bow on the chart, but it also remains the biggest rock album of the year. This stands out as the first time the group has released two albums back-to-back in the same year.

It used to be much more often. I think Elton John had about ten studio albums in the 1970-1975 period and that's not even including his live album and his Greatest Hits album. He was on a roll back then.
And this new one is a double album.
One of the most overrated bands of all time. MTV promoted them to the moon thanks to Hollywood money, and they were from L.A. too.
In the late 1980’s those guys ended up at my house after a show. It was a great show, but those guys were the biggest a-hole drunken junkies I have ever met.
So I returned to the room naked except for a sock on my penis.
Nothing worse than a SoCal junkie with success in the industry.
Was in Back to the Future also.
If I hear my local rock station play “Under the Bridge” one more time, I am going to literally jump off of a bridge...
Not a fan. Dude’s voice annoys me. I had several of their albums back in the day. Not a surprise at all to hear they were aholes.
The music producer Rick Rubin just did an interview with Joe Rogan. He said that the first time he met them, they were interested in doing an album with him and he turned them down. He said they had a really bad druggie vibe and he didn’t want to work with them.
He met them again years later and they were better. He ended up doing several albums with them.
Maybe they reformed?
I had it worse. My college roommate made a 90 minute mix tape cassette with just that song.
We were in college, lived in a 15 bedroom dive party house, people in and out all the time, and a band practice space.
Those guys came over, started pawing on the female housemates and our girlfriends, drank all our liquor, tried to kick us out of our own house, threw beer bottles at the neighbors house, did drugs, puked, etc, etc.
Not long before dawn, I was so disgusted that I went to the stereo and played Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “That Smell.”
Within a year, one of those dudes was dead of an overdose.
I was only surprised that it took that long.
Anthony pledges to do whatever he needs to do to support Barrack Obama.
Never liked their mus8c anyway.
They’re a band? Considering the source, I thought they were another gay soccer team.
