Biden's 'unthinkable' options for punishing OPEC: Democrats and the White House are vowing a response to OPEC's production cut...

White House and congressional leaders are eyeing several responses to protect U.S. consumers, ranging from an effort to wrest market control away from OPEC, limiting U.S. companies’ energy exports, and easing sanctions on unfriendly oil-producing nations — each of which carries serious potential downsides for American interests.

For now, the White House is pledging to work with Congress on a bill to allow the U.S. to sue oil cartels for antitrust violations...

The so-called NOPEC bill — No Oil Producing and Exporting Cartels — would change antitrust laws to allow the Justice Department to sue nations that restrain trade in oil, natural gas or any petroleum product.

Some Republicans scoffed at Biden’s vow to consult with Congress on the OPEC response, saying Democrats need to show a willingness to increase drilling at home.

Biden’s administration’s plan to punish OPEC reminds me of the old Polish joke when the husband suddenly returns early from work and finds his wife engaged in sexual intercourse with another man. He grabs up a gun and points it at his own head. The wife begins to laugh at him. He says “Don’t laugh. You’re next”

The best response is what we did to OPEC in the late 70’s and early 80’s.

We found alternatives, and we “over conserved” according to the Saudi’s.

Biden however has already taken a stand against the most effective responses. It’s past time for Biden to admit he was wrong on the Keystone pipeline, and coal, and nuclear.

Incompetence, stupidity and an irrational rabidly fanatic belief in the religion of all powerful government that makes the Taliban’s belief in Mohamed look like a 16 year old’s belief in Santa Claus

That is exactly what I would do if I were them.

More covert ops to fund the Muslim Brotherhood (who want to overthrow the Saudi Monarchy). The Biden boys will be looking for ways to whack the Saudis (the way they whacked the Germans by blowing up their gas pipeline).

Not that the Muslim Brotherhood will be any friendlier, but business is business for those who step out of line.

Anything but up our own production. That is not even considered.

The Dems are in a state of total war against the American people. That includes people who voted for them.

I used to look down on Ayn Rand novels, because in order to make her subtle-as-a sledge hammer polemical points, she had to concoct the most unrealistically stupid and evil cartoon villains for her heroes to oppose.

But now we have life imitating Ayn.

Hey, BUMP FIST BIDEN, I’ve got an idea… BOMB THEIR PIPELINES! You’re good at that and WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?

Righto. Biden hates pipelines, and the greens will love that.

Sounds like this exchange between Mr. Thompson and John Galt, which could just as well be a discussion with the Biden Administration about restarting Keystone and expanding drilling:

“The country is in a terrible state. People are starving and giving up, the economy is falling to pieces, nobody is producing any longer. We don’t know what to do about it. You do. You know how to make things work. Okay, we’re ready to give in. We want you to tell us what to do.”

“I told you what to do.”

“What?”

“Get out of the way.”

“That’s impossible! That’s fantastic! That’s out of the question!”

“You see? I told you we had nothing to discuss.”

Biden’s handlers never expected OPEC to side with Russia.

Fools.

I’ve always thought “Atlas Shagged” would be a good Austin Powers title.

“White House and congressional leaders are eyeing several responses to protect U.S. consumers, ranging from an effort to wrest market control away from OPEC”

The one thing they will not do is allow Americans to produce more energy.

Methinks this is NOT a good strategy. The camel jockeys will not be pleased by bullying and intimidation. Trump must be banging his head on the wall by now.

They are angry at OPEC for doing the same thing Biden did.
