That’s as cold as ice.
You know how they used to have those parties where you destroyed Disco records? They should hold those for BOTH of these bands.
Ugh!
Everyone’s body of work stands on its own.
Foreigner and Boston deserve “consideration”. But I wouldn’t give the REO Speedwagon or Styx even that either.
Bon Jovi is in? But Styx is not? That sucks.
Maybe if they had big boobs and sang country they would have a chance?
Styx definitely should be included. Foreigner don’t get no respect!
Just because a group was a Top 40 hitmaker doesn’t mean they’re no good.
Just like Abba. They found a formula that was appealing and they stuck with it.
a good call
Does Jann realize the Styx bassist is gay? You’d think he’d let them in for that alone.
reo barfwagon , indeed..
I saw styx at an outdoor venue once.
it was a short show and they acted like they were going come back and play an oncore or 2.
I saw a big van leaving from behind the stage and told my friends that we should leave, but since no one else noticed and no one was leaving I was stuck.
30 minutes later people realized and we got stuck in trafic snafu for hours.
So they do not have my vote.
Styx & REO Speedwagon were local Chicago bands that I never had interest in.
No, give me Chicago greats Minnie Ripperton, Rotary Connection, Cryin Shames, Buckinghams, CTA, Jerry Butler, ChiLites, Maurice White and his EWF,and the greatest unsung writer producer arranger in the history of popular rock: Charles Stepney. Now THAT was Chitown music worthy of Hall of Fame.
I would agree on this but there are a lot of acts already in the HOF that don’t belong there. Madonna, Eminem, Janet Jackson, to name a few. That’s not rock and roll. Neither are Neil Diamond and Donna Summer, so in the rock and roll hall of fame for some strange reason.
Yet somehow Donna Summer was inducted
Seeing double vision here and it’s fine.
Rock was never about getting voted into a HoF.
Nothing against Bon Jovi, but I’d consider Boston, Foreigner, and other bands from the late ‘70s more worthy.
They all just need to roll with the changes.
At this point, most 70s rock sounds more or less the same. Making precise decisions, saying this is good and that sucks, seems pointless.
