A local think-tank just reported that the state's cities have some of the highest crime rates in the nation. Guess why.
The Common Sense Institute (CSI), a think-tank local to Colorado, reported at the beginning of October 2022 that the state's cities have some of the highest crime rates in the nation.
"Crime in Colorado in 2022: The Data on Colorado's Increasing Crime Problem" was authored by George Brauchler, Mitch Morrissey, and Steven Byers, Ph.D.
"It is very difficult to comprehend Colorado, the Colorado I grew up in ... hosting four cities in the top ten for all these crime rates," said Brauchler at a related news conference, according to The Denver Gazette. Brauchler is the former district attorney for Colorado's 18th Judicial District.
As a fourth-generation Coloradoan, I am also shocked by the findings and by how far our cities have fallen under Democrat governance.
The first paragraph of the first section of the report, "Introduction and Key Findings," gives a reason for the rise in crime. "Advocates for criminal justice reform have made significant inroads in the past few years. Measures have been enacted to decriminalize a range of crimes, reduce the punishments for committing crimes, and pursue decarceration through various means. The results of these actions have had a serious and lasting impact on Colorado communities, resulting in increased crime and a decrease in public safety."

It seems all things have gone wrong under the first gay governor.
Don’t forget the large scale relocation of populations unfamiliar with American cultural values concerning theft, violence and rule of law.
But but but the mainstream media said that legalizing marijuana would put an end to all these property crimes!
And the commies ruining Colorado will say the answer will be more gun control.
Just wait...
Yeah, ‘hard to comprehend’. How many are run by Democrats?
Rocky Mountain High...
How many years until the cylce is complete?? After my lifetime most likely.
Colorado used to be deep red, but then Democrats took over and turned it into the hell hole it is today.
Sounds racist
Unless the current resident (or if the vice resident takes over for the retard in charge) and legalizes it on a national level.
Legalizing dope contributes a lot to crime, too.
Colorado gives California a serious contention for worst governed state.
The way the Air Force is going woke, you can’t count on that for long.
Collectivism and Marxism divides people into groups. Then the chosen and damned doctrine and the dialectic promotes group warfare.
Does the “cycle” mean complete ruination, destruction and final collapse?
Or does it mean we arrest the fall into the abyss before it’s too late and recover the great civilization we once were?
Or do we just arrest the fall temporarily (like four years of Trump) and then resume an accelerated fall (Biden)?
Is Pueblo still where the headquarters for the government printing office is? Remember all of those adds on TV to send in for pamphlets.
Yes, and to add insult to injury, good old J H1ckenl00per made fools out of a whole bunch of y’all with his incredibly lame “fantasy resort” fabrication. Vaping, everybody!!! Hilldog gets some revenge. This place sucks.
I want to leave this stupid state SO BAD.
Cities have been increasingly hostile to raising children for decades. Once a family needs to leave in order to raise their family, why return? The commuting model has severe limitations and was at best an interim solution for a generation and a half of workers.
Cities were a necessity until technology facilitated a spread to suburban and rural areas. Then they became a liability.
The Democrat model of refilling cities with Replacement Americans was a bad solution and has made them far worse.
Some posit that the United States needs penal colonies but we already have them. We still call them cities but those geographic locations don't serve as the civic centers they once did.
"Escape from New York" was a 1970s movie with a theme that it was easier to seal off Manhattan island in New York City and use it as a prison than it would be to build new prisons to handle all the criminals. That model continues to this day. Urban centers fail as cities but serve as open-air prisons, psychiatric wards, and homeless shelters.
The disparity continues to widen. People can meet and gather via the internet and cellular communications, bypassing the need for a former city.
Rye is in a beautiful area.
