Texas Governor Greg Abbott expanded his lead over Democratic challenger Beto O’Rourke, posting a double-digit advantage with less than three weeks to go before the vote.
Abbott, a Republican, had 54% support from likely voters compared with 43% for O’Rourke, a former US congressman from El Paso, according to a poll released Friday by the University of Texas/Texas Politics Project.
The poll found that Texans trust Abbott more when it comes to two top issues in the state: immigration/border security and the economy. On the issue of abortion, both candidates were tied on who voters think would do a better job.
Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick posted a 15 percentage point lead over his opponent and Attorney General Ken Paxton has a 14 percentage point advantage over Democrat Rochelle Garza. No Democrat has won a statewide election in Texas in nearly three decades.

Lois Lerner and Eric Holder were also held in contempt but never charged. James Clapper committed perjury and was never charged. The DOJ could take its pick of crimes to charge Hunter Biden for but he’s still not indicted. The liars and leakers who did the Russia hoax are free.

Federal appeals court temporarily blocks Biden student loan forgiveness program
“The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals granted a motion on Friday to temporarily block President Biden’s student loan handout plan.
The appeals court ruled in favor of six Republican-led states who requested that Biden’s handout plan is halted while the court works through its request for an injunction.
Biden’s plan, which aims to cancel up to $20,000 in student loan debt for Pell Grant recipients in college and up to $10,000 for others who borrowed using federal student loans.
Qualifications for the handout include having an adjusted gross income of less than $125,000 individually, and less than $250,000 if married.”
