How will the electric cars charge up now?
My mother-in-law lives in Palm Bay....................
Be fair, Gas Pumps also require electricity.
WINDMILLS!.......................😉
Not the 5 gallon containers full in my garage.
Florida knows how to handle stuff like this, although this is a really big one. Before the storm made landfall the state had mustered more than 10,000 utility workers and vehicles in Lakeland to get on the repairs as soon as it was safe to do so.... There are reports already this morning that more than half a million have had power restored. It’ll take a while for sure, but it’s not like the State (or DeSantis) put off thinking about how to cope.
Can’t the same be said for people with generators?
Not so much anymore. Lol.
We are transforming into Tampa Bay fans.
They have generators that can be used.
Try using one to charge your car.
I suppose that's my question, are there generators that can charge EVs? I don't know.
Seriously, I drove home the next morning and thought it would be months before we got all those wires back up. We had crews from Canada and the Midwest come in. It was about 95% up in a week.
People working together, with a purpose, is amazing to watch.
I was on the Cape for Bob... It’s been a long time since MA has been hit by a big storm. We seem to be a bunch of pampered babies these days, it’s Armageddon when teenagers can’t find their cell phones.
My EV for a horse!
I guess it works, but slowly: Using a 4000W generator, it will take you 24 hours to fully charge the vehicle. This can mean using several tanks of gas. It is generally practical to use just about one gas tank to charge the vehicle to reasonable power levels rather than do this for a whole day.
In short, yes. But it will take all day. Not sure you want to “spend” your generator time on charging a car like that.
Gloria beat up the South Shore pretty badly. We were spared that time. But we sent crews to Brockton for a couple weeks.
I don’t remember which one hit us, but it would have been in ‘93-96 time frame.
Masks prevent the spread of hurricanes and we all know DeSantis prevented that form happening. His hubris brought this on. He ignored the silence on Covid like he ignored the science on Hurricanes.
All this and more tripe coming to a Charlie Crust near you.
Sucks to be a “proud” EV owner.
There...fixed it.
