And “Gutfeld!” was pre-empted last night, for more weather coverage.
Probably just an anti-Republican dry run for the upcoming elections “coverage”.
” I’ve never seen anything like it.”
Remember 9-11 coverage?
Wishing you well and hope your home is ok. I live in north Florida and we are heartbroken over the devastation your area is experiencing. Praying for you and everyone else down there with you.
Remember the press coverage of Princess Diana’s death.
Many of our neighbors stayed and were shaken up by the experience especially when the surge started. Several in my neighborhood lost their homes entirely from either the wind or the water.
We live about 3 miles from the Sanibel bridge and Fort Myers Beach. Would bike there several times a week. My husband was out of state at the time and was able to bring a truckload of supplies including a new generator.
We are cleaning up as best we can but are limited by the water pressure.
I haven’t ventured out of my little neighborhood because gas is precious and the stations around here are damaged and the ones further away have horrendous lines. We had friends from the east coast of Florida come with a packed vehicle. They brought us gas, water, ice, propane and food. More than enough to share with neighbors. We are very blessed with our family and friends being so supportive.
Some silver linings I’ve encountered: The kindness of strangers - a mom and her daughter came around the day after, offering water and food to everyone they encountered. The generosity and concern of friends and family. The sharing amongst neighbors has been amazing. There are no lights so the night sky has been awesome and humbling. The quietness is also unique, especially in the morning….hearing the birds chirping without all the background noise of cars going by or a/c units running. I even hear a rooster crowing in the distance. Life will be different. Mother Nature is not to be underestimated. thank you all again for your prayers and concern. We’ll be alright.
So glad you are safe! I know that this is going to be a long road ahead for you and your community. We take so much for granted. Your post brings that home.
You have a wonderful outlook to all your troubles there. Glad you have good support. Take care and I wish you and all your community well and a quick recovery.
