That’s a great idea. I enjoy all of your posts - long and otherwise 🙂. I’m 95% likely to read a long post in its entirety and about 5% likely to click on a link, unless the few lines of description or the URL itself highly intrigue me. I’m usually pressed for time but I do try to read all words that posters have taken the time to post. I’ve yet to click on a link that didn’t have 10 ads to scroll over throughout the body of the article, and a request for a donation at the end. One way or another, we’re all forced to scroll over things we don’t want to see.
Watching Mark Steyn’s new show on GB News, although it’s on a brit alternate news site, so mostly brit and continental, so perhaps not - he was on fire in his opening segment today

he’s actually Canadian, and lives in New Hampshire, and has a lot to say about the US (he was a terrific Ruch guest host), but this is a brit show so he’s mostly about them

Thank you for the history on page gobbling, as I was unaware of the reason for brevity. If we have an obligation to conserve bandwidth, we can absolutely provide links only to articles, and also do away with all ‘in’ posts, cat memes, and slides of every kind. I’m guilty of some of that and am ready to follow the crowd, even though the crowd will be a lot less affable. We’re getting there anyway as people just seem more cranky lately - stress of the battle we’ve been engaged in I assume. I appreciate the explanation and it makes sense.

My mom was born in Hollywood Fla in 1926. Two weeks later The Great Miami Storm of 26 (that’s back before they named hurricanes) blew their home away, her family of nine had to crawl through the hurricane to shelter at a school house. Her 18 year old brother wrapped her in a blanket and accidentally carried her upside down during the evacuation. They said her face was red and she was screaming when they took the blanket off. At least he hung onto her and didn’t let the wind take her.
